Love this cute little restaurant! Shared the Bistro Burger and Bistro Club. Both were excellent but I think I love the burger just a little more. Medium cooked beef with caramelized onion and Brie between two soft buns. Delicious! Service was friendly, price was reasonable and portions were great. Give it a try!
I really wanted to have a positive experience here, but we spent nearly 2 hours here with a hungry pregnant wife. The staff acknowledged there was an issue in the kitchen and offered us a croissant to share. I had ordered a coffee to go with my lunch which was long finished by the time the food came out. My burger was on the medium rare side, and I was too hungry to mention it. The only saving grace in this review was the server. The croissant was a nice touch, and she came back, apologized and comp'd or meals. We only paid for our coffees and I left a decent tip for the servers professionalism. The ambience is instagram worthy and so is the food. We might have to come back and give them a second chance.
Food, service, ambience all great. The duck was cooked to perfection and the chocolate dessert with espresso were my favourite! Cute little grocer on the side. Only reason why I'm not giving a 5 star is because I had to wait a week for my reservation deposit to return. When I called, they told me it should have automatically be refunded, but it turns out they never refunded me until after I called them. Make sure you confirm this with them once you check in!
Great place for dates and gathering for friends. Absolutely a great bistro vibe. Love the French cuisine with a twist of personal creativity. Service and food was great. What a great experience!
Visited this French bistro for the first time in a group of 8 in Sep 2022. Large group reservation was easy by phone and the staff was very accommodating with modifications. The restaurant was busy so I recommend making reservations in advance. The dining experience was superb from the cozy ambience and cute decor to the attentive service throughout the meal. We tried the $55 per person family style called "The Goods" and this was essentially the entire menu consisting of 6 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. We got 2 of each to share amongst 8 people and it was plenty of food even for large grown men. Definitely recommend going for this option for larger groups. Highlights for me include the beef tartare, country ham, Hokkaido scallops with bernaise sauce, hierloom tomato salad, chicken stuffed with mushroom, and maple glazed pork belly. The ingredients were seasonal and fresh. The sauces and sides were complementary and added balance and depth of flavor. Plates of food were served timely and in the right order with no large gaps in between. They also have a good selection of beer, wine and cocktails, and we each had about 3-4 drinks. Total per person before tips came to around $90. Very good value for the experience. No hesitation in recommending Collective Goods Bistro & Grocer to friends and family.
Booked this place to celebrate my anniversary with my partner, and I’m so happy I did. The staff clearly thought about the best place to seat us, and thoughtfully left an adorable note on our table congratulating us. The food, the service, and the ambiance was great. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. On a side note, if you do order the foie and brioche, the wine jelly they make in house is HEAVEN. I seriously wish they sold it, because it’s so amazing. Loved it here. Thank you so much to the staff for their amazing service and delicious food.
I can’t find anything to complain about their services, the food, the atmosphere and the environment. My friends and I ordered “The Goods,” and it’s definitely worth the money. We have a really wonderful experience at this place, sincerely recommended from the bottom of my heart
Cute little French restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and great food. The mussels and fries we ordered were delicious. The vibe and decor fit well into the Commercial Drive/Street area. I will definitely come back to try the other items on the menu.
Nice cozy Bistro. By the end of the evening the music was quite loud and it was difficult to have a conversation. Service was quite good. Waters always filled, food paced well. Bison tartare 4 stars Solid bison tartare option. Butter lettuce salad 4.25 stars The dressing was very nice. It has a bit of a licorice taste in it that I wasn't as fond of. Coque st Jacques 3.8 stars It was prepared fine, but something missed the mark for me. Boo yah baise 4 stars Enjoyed the golden bitterness of the lobster bisque and the fact it wasn't overly salted but still full of flavor. Duck breast 5 stars This was my favorite dish of the night. I would order this next time. Mille feuille 4.5 stars Messy to eat, but still quite tasty. Very large sharing portion Creme caramel 5 stars Incredibly smooth, it's a fantastic version of a creme caramel. Parking is available for free on the street.
I had visited the charming Collective Goods Bistro to grab a quick to-go lunch. The roast beef sandwich had a great dressing packed with flavour all nestled in a beautifully baked bun. The butter croissant was also a hit. Would definitely be coming back to try the other menu items and pick up some goods from the fun market selection.
