Doc Magilligan's Restaurant & Irish Pub

This pub is awesome. We went in on a Saturday night and the service was still quick and great. The food there is very good and had a lot of flavour. The staff are super friendly and the food/drinks are inexpensive. Would definitely recommend this pub.

5 star food hats off to Chef Gary. Service was a four for me; however it appeared they were short a server considering it was busy. If you order the Taste of Ireland be prepared for excellence. The Scotch picnic egg was in my opinion the best I've ever had. From one Chef to another; my hat is tipped sir.

Doc Magilligan's is the usual North American translation of an Irish pub. It has the physical look and feel of an traditional Irish pub, but it differs significantly in the food. Majority of the menu is a mixture of traditional Irish and British dishes, such as Sheperds Pie, Fish and Chips, etc.. with a scattering of North American plates. The major differences are that the North American variations usually contain spices, herbs, and such, making it not the same flavour as a traditional version, some would say that the traditional styles are much more bland. With that being said, the food is delicious, and the portions are quite large. I've sampled a number of items on their menu ranging from the pies to the potato skins. Each dish was delightful, with fluffy and light pastry. I particularly enjoy the Sheperd's Pie and Madras Curry, I think those two are staple items on their menu. The staff are also very friendly and courteous, more importantly they have a great sense of humour. This location also plays live music on set nights, if you want a quiet atmosphere to relax and eat, I would not suggest going on those nights, but I would recommend it as a low key and quiet environment any other time. So if you're looking for a reasonably priced restaurant, with a traditional Irish atmosphere, and some delicious comfort food, then this might be the place for you.

Good pub style restaurant. Good size portions and a variety of pub and non pub style menu items. Bangers and mash came with 3 good sized sausage and a side of baked beans which was a great touch from the United Kingdom. Restaurant is within the Best Western on Lundys Lane. There is a no frills next door for shopping. Surrounded by main fast food places.
