10/10 would return 100%. Go in, order at the counter then take a seat and wait for heaven to arrive. We got the Pit Boss#1 1lb of brisket that was AMAZING They left the fatty/crunchy deliciously smoked layer for ALL of the flavor. It was a "Close your eyes and savor the moment" experience. The beans, slaw. baked potato casserole AND fried pickles and rolls were ALL outstanding. We really enjoyed the sweet BBQ sauce, but they have a whole variety from original to various degrees of spicy. While we were there they accidentally made an extra serving of fried pickles and after questioning everyone in the restaurant, they chose to give them to another group having their dinner.
We stopped here on the way to our hotel. I'd never heard of Dickey's, but my friends said that they used to go a location down south. I had a 2-meat platter, brisket and pulled pork, with waffle fries and fried pickle chips for my sides. It was all delicious, and every sauce I tried was great. I was full, but I managed to squeeze in some ice cream. Note: you order from the left side of the counter, not the right where you walk in the door -- there's even a sign -- but I missed it. The kid behind the counter had a good sense of humor about it. Now I wish we had one Up North in Gaylord or Petoskey.
My first time going I ordered pork ribs, 6 wings, mac n cheese, fried pickles. Got home and had no wings, my mac n cheese were fries, and my pickles were fried okra. I went back with the food and receipt and placed them on the counter while they fixed the order. Came back home and was dumb enough to not check the bag. Order was still wrong and no fried pickles, and my wings were burnt and plain. I had ordered lemon pepper. Food was decent. Experience was pretty frustrating.
Very disappointed. I ordered 2 meat the chicken was good and moist but the brisket was so dry I felt I was eating beef jerky. And probably cooked the day before, definitely wasn’t fresh. The green bean juice spilled in the bottom of my bag and made the sides all wet and mushy. The drive up service was terribly slow waited in my car 20 minutes and I was the only car in line and it was almost 1:00. It was awesome when they first opened.. not so great now.
I don’t know what happened to this location. I’ve been steadily going every few months since they opened and I’ll preface this review by saying I’m completely aware that it’s a chain bbq place. I know to keep my expectations at a certain level. Anyhow I went there for lunch yesterday and it just wasn’t the same. The ribs were super over cooked falling apart and small. The double order of fries seemed like the old single order and I could have swore they used to have waffle fries? Then there was the brisket, and I’ll repeat that I know this was a Dickeys in Muskegon, it was terrible compared to previous visits. It was cut with the grain and tough. Last time I was there the brisket was too good to be from a chain place. This time it was super lean with barely any bark. I’ll wait a while before I go back and hope things change back.
Very polite and courteous staff. Food was excellent. I had pulled pork sandwich and my hubby had brisket. Mac and cheese was really good and creamy. Bbq beans excellent.Food: 5/5
Tried this place out for the first time and I have to say I'm underwhelmed by the entire experience. I told the young man who was working the drive through that this was my first time , he made no suggestions or even an attempt at helping me navigate the menu. He did let me know the Mac and cheese wasn't baked so that helped me decide against it as my side . We got a three meat meal , I Specifically asked for moist brisket and was given lean with very hard bark that was overly salted . The pulled pork was dry through out with some tender pieces , I didn't enjoy the dry pieces but the tender moist pieces were okay , not great but okay. I'd say the chicken was the best part of the meal , bland but I'd prefer that to the over salted brisket . We ordered fried okra and that was fine , it's kind of hard to mess that up lol but the fried pickels were also way too salted and I'm honestly surprised they didn't come with ranch automatically.. but I'd say that I should have asked for it as well. Sauce wise the original is okay , the sweet is mostly a brown sugar taste and the the spicy was okay .
First time customer...had a Xmas gift card to redeem. We're from out of town, but will definitely make it a stop when we come back to Muskegon! Excellent Food: 5/5
EAT HERE NOW! The wife and i have been here 2 days in a row with no problems. The food is hot, fresh and flavorful. Service is friendly and fast. I had the westerner plate with waffle fries and fried okra. The fries are well seasoned with a garlic and salt mixture, the fried okra was crispy with a peppery taste and not slimy, as okra tends to be. The second day i switched okra for baked potato casserole, which is basically loaded mashed potatos. My sandwich was beef brisket and the jalapeno chedder kielbasa. My wife had the beef brisket mac and cheese stack. The mac and cheese was super creamy and rich, with no flour taste or grit like a lot of homemade mac has. The cheese is a flavorful cheddar. The food is very filling and priced well. We both have big appetites and left full for under 20$.There is also free ice cream, 3 flavors of heated bbq sauce. The resteraunt was clean and well maintained even while busy.
I've never had a bad experience here. After roughly a year of knowing about this place and coming frequently for lunch I can't find any complaints honestly. Staff at the drive thru is great, always nice talking.
