Great trails in the Mer Bleue sector, note that dogs are not allowed. The trails are well cleared and wide enough to accommodate people hiking, snowshoeing sans cross country skiing. You can pick the trails you want to follow based on how long of a path you want. Directions are well marked and provide good information. The scenery is very nice with lots of birds and squirrels coming closer to visitors. Parking is small, Saturday afternoon on a nice day people have to park along the road.
This trail is the perfect length for a three year old to enjoy! Impossible to get lost. Will definitely go again. Free parking, washroom across the road from the lot I don’t know how it is as I didn’t need to use it, bring lots of bug spray.
What a spectacular walking area. This place is an easy no elevation change walk that branches off in a few directions . The 2 k loop is perfect for seeing wildlife and a bit of exercise
A beautiful trail with great free parking and clearly marked routes! Road headed into the trail wasn’t cleared off but wasn’t a problem going slowly.
Dewberry is a good set of trails for any hiker looking to get out for a few hours. It has a few parking spots which all have clean outhouses and if you drive 3 minutes away you can visit the bog which has a little over 1km of pure boardwalk. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes or boots, depending on the trail you can get submerged in mud pretty deep... no one likes an unexpected soaker.
Awesome place to walk. Great experience for children to meet the friendly little birds who fly so near by stand so close. They have few bird houses in the trees that kids like to watch. As for the walk, it’s an easy one and so convenient for families. I just loved the place
Great short loop trail that would be great for kids. There is a public washroom that is open right now. On our visit early May, the only trouble we ran into were some muddy parts on trail 50.
The Dewberry trail is part of the Mer Bleue conservation greenbelt area located within the boreal forest off Dolman Ridge road. It is a nice walk with many trees, animals and birds. I like to view the cycle of the forest's life with tall trees pushing up the canopy for light, trees fallen over from their roots and fungi growing on the decomposing wood. Also to hear woodpeckers hammering their beaks into the rotted trees to find insects to eat. I also liked exploring deeper into the area and sneaked a peak through the fenced off area where NRC takes seismic measurements for the earths movements. If you go down the blocked off private road and down a boardwalk you can find the peat and bog research area. Explore and discover the area to find some geo-transducer sensors measuring all sorts of things. But please do not distrurb or touch them. If you like my reviews, photos or videos please give them a thumbs up. Hope you enjoy your adventures too.
Over 10km hike if you do all the trails from Mer Bleue , Dewberry etc. There are easy to moderate trails. Pets aren't allowed in some trails. Great place to go with kids too. You can hike, skii or snowshoe here
Nice little trail, was ultra windy the day we went so we didn’t see many birds.
