Food, overall, was quite good except for the French toast which was too sweet. I loved their take on the shrimp omelette and who knew gluten free Saskatoon berry muffins could be so tasty? They are busy during brunch so service was very slow. Don't come if you're in a hurry! Parking: They have their own parking lot in the back
Beautiful venue & setting with great hospitality from all their team members. Our server was ever so attentive in making our anniversary brunch memorable. She was also knowledgeable of the menu they change it seasonally and was able to recommend us based on our appetite! If you're a big carb person, their daily assorted pastries is highly recommended--they even have gluten-free options that you're able to split with members of your party with those dietary needs.
Afternoon tea was delightful! Very good food, tea ambiance and service - highly recommend! Our party of 6 truly enjoyed themselves! TAKE NOTE that we booked our reservation online 2 days beforehand by clicking the "Reserve Afternoon Tea" button at the bottom of the web page titled Afternoon Tea on their website. There was no option to choose the tea experience specifically, just the date and party size. Despite text there saying there would be a deposit of 10$ per person in the party, no payment prompt occurred during the reservation process. Though, I did receive an email saying my reservation was confirmed. I decided to call the next day to make sure our spot was reserved, as they do sell out of the Afternoon Tea experience and I had read another review complaining of improper reservations. Turns out my reservation was in fact NOT correct, and was NOT noted as an Afternoon Tea experience just a normal reservation for lunch. I have no clue how this happened when I specifically clicked the "Reserve Afternoon Tea" button but when I spoke with staff they apologized profusely and switched our reservation to the correct one without hesitation. Keep this in mind when booking online, or try to book over the phone as I'm not sure it would always be such an easy fix, and would have been a massive let down to miss out. Other than this we had an amazing experience!
Wonderful experience. Deane House is a classy upscale restaurant suitable for a special occasion like an anniversary or an engagement! We enjoyed some of the best mulligatawny soup I’ve tasted, very fresh oysters and homemade sourdough to start. I had the bison striploin for dinner and my wife had the tenderloin, both were cooked to perfection and the meat practically melted in our mouths. Dessert was a treacle pudding and a creme brûlée, and they were exquisite!
Excellent service. Delicious food and atmosphere. 5-stars to our waitress. She was professional and upbeat. I highly recommend Deane House for a quiet dinner with family/friends.Food: 5/5
We had the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing for our anniversary. It was absolutely delicious. When we booked our table we put down that it was an anniversary and when we got to the restaurant they made it extra special, even giving us a personalized Happy anniversary card.
My sister took me for high tea for my birthday. It was both our first time at Deane's as well as the high tea experience. The atmosphere is cozy. Not extravagant or super fancy. Just a building with a history. The washrooms are located upstairs. I'm glad the waitress kept coming by to make sure our hot water was refilled very often for the tea. However, I think high tea in general are way too overpriced for the amount of food you get. I don't think I'll ever try high tea again. Parking: Only 15 free parking spaces
We enjoyed our brunch here 2 weeks ago, bartender was helpful and friendly. So we decided to come back and try the afternoon tea, which was a bit disappointing. Waited forever to get water and menu. And she asked for the bill right after we finished the food. The food itself wasn’t bad price wise except for the sandwiches.
The change of scenery wisks you back to the past with the historic feel of this place. The staff were on point from beginning to end, friendly and memorable. The wine menu is extensive, limited draught, limited canned beers - nothing domestic. The cheese plate was delectable. The exterior exhibited beautiful scenery.
We ate here for our anniversary, and were given a card hand-signed by staff nice little gesture!. The food was outstanding. We had the Fogo Island Crab and Fresh Oysters as a starter crab to die for!. For dinner we had the Ewe Nique Farms Chicken and Briggs Farm Bison. Both were incredible! Service was great too.
