DCT Aviation

Came to DCT after months of research on where to efficiently add a multiengine commercial certificate to an existing ATP Helicopter; Private/Instrument ASEL. Talked to dozens of flight schools across the country as I was prepared to go just about anywhere to get this task completed with a 2 week break from my current job. Settled on DCT after speaking with Mike, the Director of Operations, and some other positive recommendations from prior students that have since moved into the airlines. Mike assured me DCT had the resources to get me a Commercial Multi Add-On with the dates I had specified. He even scheduled my check ride for my last day in town to make sure the examiner would be available on MY schedule. When I showed up I found a clean facility, very nice and safe aircraft that were available for me to use. Assigned to Hunter as my primary instructor. Hunter was excellent, very thorough, superior quality of instruction among the best I’ve seen after hundreds of hours of instruction received. I was impressed on day one. After 9 days I sat for my commercial multi check ride and passed without any surprises. For those looking for a VA direct pay option-DCT provides this. I utilized that resource as well as paid for some additional training as well. Their prices are among the best in the country and they provide exactly what they promise. Very quality place and honest, knowledgeable people in an industry where that can be difficult to find in the flight school world.

Great instructors. Very organized. Very well maintained aircraft. This flight school has a great tight knit community of pilots that make you really feel like family. Highly recommended to any potential students or pilots.

DCT has very good instructors that will guide you through every step. They are also very flexible which allows you to work around your schedule. Great set of planes + relaxed environment + good instructors = success! Highly recommended!

DCT Aviation is a world class, full service flight school. Whether you are new to aviation, looking to add a rating, or just looking for a reliable place to rent a plane - this is the place. The aircraft are a very well equipped fleet of Pipers. The maintenance is top notch and carefully scheduled to maintain a high level of availability for customers. The DCT staff always treats you like family and have a focus on safety, convenience, and value. I am impressed by their ability to innovate and provide unique training opportunities and promotions. Check out their flight simulators and Adventure Pilot programs. DCT is a truly incomparable company where general aviation is very much alive and well!

If you or someone you know is interested in flying and would like to start training, I highly recommend DCT Aviation. All aircraft are kept in great condition, the customer service is excellent and the rates are low. I have a pretty busy schedule and can only fly certain times during the week. This wasn't a problem at DCT since they can work with any schedule. I was amazed at how cheap it was compared to other flight schools in the Detroit area. I would definitely recommend DCT Aviation to my friends and family.
