I'd like to promote a locally owned Asian restaurant called Day Day Fast Food 1465 Merivale Rd. They're located in the Merivale Market, next to Bulk Barn and Food Basics. I think they mainly sell Chinese food, but they also have Japanese and Korean. I tried them out on a whim once and hoped that their general tao chicken dish was good - and was pleasantly surprised! If you've had general tao chicken before, it's a breaded almost popcorn chicken covered in a sweet and sour glaze. I've had this dish many times before from other places and have been disappointed in that the chicken was mostly breading and no actual chicken. This place is different. Since then, I've visited their restaurant for takeout multiple times and even with a full face mask and hood on, they've come to recognize me. The owners are very sweet and have also been giving me free food, like sesame balls and garlicky potatoes, anytime I go. Anyway, if you're craving for a Chinese take out night, I highly recommend that you give them a try! They're also available on Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes, and DoorDash but my preference is to order there and do a pick up so they get 100% of the proceeds. You can even stop by Bulk Barn/Food Basics to do some light shopping while they cook! Give them a try, I recommend it!
I came here on a whim as i wanted Chinese food but did not want to go to a restaurant. I was greatly surprised! The food was reasonably price, had great portions and delicious. I highly recommend if you are in the area and are looking to grab a quick bite to eat.
Pad Thai was very affordable, best price in the city. It was delicious and spicy, not too saucy or oily, nice fresh take.
Amazing food, great prices, super friendly staff. They also accommodated my dietary restrictions and made sure I had a great experience. Please support this local restaurant if you can!
Sneaky with the fees. Didn't notice until after I'd paid that my $39 jumped to $59. The food was ok but one of the dishes was 2/3 rice. Be wary if you order online.Food: 3/5
Amazing and friendly staff is only the beginning here!! The food is excellent and portion sizes are generous! I absolutely recommend this restaurant!
Food was amazing! Our General Tao chicken was crispy on the outside and the chicken was nice and tender. The portion sizes was good.. We had the fried rice which was flavorful and not overly salty. We also had the sesame balls which were delicious. A place we will definitely return to and looking forward to trying other dishes!
First time trying this place. The food is perfectly seasoned and the owners are very nice. I would recommend this place!
Great little restaurant, super nice owners! Their beef brisket noodle soup, , was delicious, good portions. Also had their bbq pork buns, which are homemade, also delicious. Can't wait to come back!
Man I went to pick some groceries at food basic and saw this restaurant name Day Day I am tell you worth every penny. The food is good and the prices is great bros
