The reason why I gave this place a 2 star rating was because of one very rude employee, James, working at this store. Aside from that, all the other employees were very friendly and helpful. I was at Davids Tea today (Tsawwassen Mills) and bought a tea infuser and a cup of tea. Before I bought the tea, I wanted to know what kind of teas they used in their tea lattes. I asked James, the man working as a sort of barista at the counter where they made and sold actual cups of tea and in response, he said "well you have to go line up over there (at the till) if you want to get your tea latte" in a very exasperated tone. I wasn't sure if he understood my question properly so I said "I need to know what kind of tea you are using in your tea latte before I go buy it". "Any tea that you want" he responded. This interaction with him made me feel like I was an annoyance to him. Fortunately, I had the opprtunity to interact with some of the other staff, who were much friendlier. After purchasing my tea, I went back to wait at the counter where James was working to wait for my order. After a few minutes, he placed some drinks on the counter so I asked if it was mine. His response, "Thats not it", was given with such frustration that it made me wonder if he was having a bad day or something, at least thats what I thought until I saw his interaction with a caucasian lady who approached him. He greeted her with kindness and even chatted with her for a while. At the end of the day, I felt like he was treating me differently because of my appearance. The tea was good though.
