Story

Dancing Marlin in Frankfort is proud to be the first South Suburban Chicago restaurant to offer a shared plates concept featuring fine American cuisine in an ultrahip, yet informal setting. Located minutes from I-80, just south of Orland Park, we invite you to come in and taste our fresh seafood; it’s our specialty! Our seasonally evolving menu highlights innovative, responsible, and sustainable fare with a purpose.

Our fresh fish is caught using the traditional hook and line method to ensure minimal environmental impact. We do not source our fish from large net fisheries because nets can trap unintended wildlife and threaten fish stocks. The practice of procuring line-caught fish ensures that our guests can enjoy sustainable, responsibly obtained seafood. But, it also means our fish selections may be limited on any given day. We appreciate your understanding.

The rules for sharing? There are no rules! We encourage our guests to begin by ordering a few dishes to share. If you’re still hungry, go ahead and try a few more. If someone at the table is not the sharing type, (and there’s nothing wrong with that), he or she may enjoy one of our larger entrées.

Dancing Marlin knows when it comes to quality, details matter. That’s why we filter our water five times to provide you with the best; and all of our 18 wines are served on tap to ensure perfect air and temperature control for every glass poured. Plus, we have eight handcrafted cocktails on tap, many of which are seasonally inspired. Our knowledgeable staff has a passion for food and drink and we encourage you to ask them for pairing suggestions.

We recognize dining is as much about the experience as it is the cuisine, and we take pride in creating an atmosphere as rousing as our food. Our interior design elements are re-claimed or re-purposed, and serve as a reflection of our responsible and sustainable values. We invite you to have a seat at the chef’s communal table, which we lovingly refer to as The Kitchen Table, and experience an exclusive behind the scenes look at our open kitchen. The Kitchen Table atmosphere buzzes with excitement and creates a sharing environment for up to 18 people. It is a destination table for couples, friends, colleagues, strangers, and strangers who want to become friends.

Let Dancing Marlin host your next event! Our two-level restaurant provides the perfect setting for private dining and group events ranging from cozy family affairs for birthdays, anniversaries or showers, to large corporate dinners and client cocktail parties. Customers may create their own custom menu from our regular selections, and tailor a menu as unique as the party you’re planning! Dancing Marlin staffs each private party with dedicated servers to ensure you have the best dining experience.
