This place is great. I have had any issues with aggressive dogs and it seems everyone is really helpful and nice. Large areas for the dogs to run in. The walking trails are great and covered in wood chips so even after the rain, you don't get super muddy. Things to be aware of: 1. No water is provided. This means bring your own, to ensure fresh water. There are bowls for the dogs, and usually there is water in them...but that water can be very dirty. 2. Toys are technically not allowed. People will fuss at you if you bring them 3. In the evening during the summer, the bats come out. They will swoop by your head. R. Make sure you and your dog have tick protection.
My pit bull mix and I love it here! I felt so welcomed by the “regulars”!! The park is super well maintained, wood-chipped paths, trash cans are well spread out around the park, plastic bags are available if you forget one from home, and overall just great!!! It is definitely worth a $46ish annual pass!!!
This used to be the dog park I'd take my dogs to. I loved it, mix of woods and a big field. No water provided, but that was OK. 100% fenced in. Sometimes it would smell due to the mulch store nearby, but I would just avoid that corner of the park on those days. Why did I stop going? The gun range nearby. I don't know if they only opened after 2018 or 2019, or if they expanded their hours, or what... but for years this park was fine. Anyhow, my dog doesn't like fireworks, and gunfire sounds like fireworks to him. If your dog doesn't mind fireworks/gunfire, or if you go when the gun range is closed, it's not a problem at all. The silver lining is it led me to find a new dog park, which also charges a fee, but provides a water pump & kiddie pools in the summer, and is almost four times the size, and a similar drive time for me. If you live within ten minutes of Dakota Woods, then I'd recommend it with an asterisk for gunshy dogs. If it's more than a ten minute drive, I'd really suggest looking at all your options ;-
Nice wooded and open spaces for the pups to play. Usually they have doggie poo bags and trash to dispose of said poo.You need a pass which is $6 daily or $45 annually. The sheriff's do check passes. Nicest one around here I have found yet.
This is one of our favorite dog parks. We get a nice walk through the woods with our dogs, while listening to birdsong. There's normally no standing water for the dogs to get wet in. Sometimes the compost site nextdoor smells a bit, but it's never too bad, and I'm kind of used to it.
Excellent place to take your dog. For the past 6 months I've been taking my dog to Dakota Woods Dog Park every other week or so. I've had nothing but great experiences. The people there are always welcoming to other dogs, hyper puppies included! The trails are great and easy to walk even in the current deep snow we have. The parking lot can get full but there is room on the road and I've never had an issue with too many people being there at once.
This is an amazing dog park with plenty of space for your dog to explore, the only thing missing that would make it perfect is a water source on site for the dogs to drink, but that is in the works, until then don't forget to bring a bottle of water and bowl for you furry friend.
We've yet to come here in the summer & looking forward but so far it's nice. There are wooded paths to take with your dogs and a huge field.
Girlfriend and I love this place are dog also loves it. Highly recommend coming out here if your looking for a clean and friendly park for your dog.
The woods and open field offer a variety of places for dogs to play. Really well maintaines
