It's a DaeJi cutlet franchise and like the original it's not.pretending to be anything else then what it's showing on the menu. This location seems to be better then the original downtown location which serves up smaller portions! Come here for large fried flavors and a quick meal. Don't expect anything complexity beyond what's on the nose.
Like the name implies, this is an excellent, simple, Korean katsu/cutlet restaurant. The portion sizes are good for the price, the set is well balanced, and the flavours are excellent. Atmosphere is casual, restaurant was a bit on the colder side, keep in mind if planning to dine in during the winter months. Service here is done via call button so it's easy to get the waiters attention. time from ordering to being served food was a little on the slower side even when not busy, however food is hot and fresh tasting. Recommend getting the curry sauce with your meal, it is well seasoned and aromatic, a highlight of the experience.
This place is recently renovated and no longer orange. We ordered the pork bone soup and spicy pork BBQ. The main dishes are good but the sides were not my preference. I enjoyed the kimchi and mashed potatoes. But not a fan of the lotus root and rice cake with condensed milk. But that is more my own preference. I wished they had the bean sprouts or bean curd sides. Overall it was good. Parking available in the parking lot off Nelson. But if a very small lot.
First ordered the Classic Original Cutlet, I figured it would be best to start with the basics. For $12.99 you get a good amount of food. The cutlet and sauce was excellent, they pair very well together along with the rice. The only thing that throws it off is being adjacent to the cold macaroni and coleslaw. Everything next to those items get chilled and end up lukewarn/cold. Probably would have been better for those items on separate serving vessels but then again, they make for more visually appealing plating when they're together. I ordered the cheese topped cutlet the next time. It was same thing as the last with the same sides and the same cutlet and sauce but with melted cheese also for a couple bucks more. Good but not sure if it was worth the extra couple of dollars because the flavour of the cheese gets lost in the tang of the sauce. The next time I came here there was a Mushroom Alfredo cutlet as a limited time special. Same cutlet and sides as before except instead of the usual sauce, it's an alfredo. Although the alfredo felt more like canned mushroom soup than a true alfredo. This one was disappointing despite the extra cost. I guess I'll stick to the excellent Classic Cutlet from here on. Overall, very good restaurant, good food, good value.
Very tasty, and great value! The portions were large, so make sure that you are hungry enough if you go. Worth visiting more than once!
We ordered 2 lunch special today. The price is good and the food is delicious. I like the deep fried pork chop. The service is very good too.
The restaurant seems to have changed. Daeji Korean cuisine. The restaurant is clean and the food looks and tastes great. Also, the owner and staff are kind. The katsuball cutlet is especially delicious!
This restaurant should work really really hard on short staffing and food quality control. My friend and I waited for 50mins for 19$ seafood tofu soup that served with raw shrimp. We guessed that those shrimps might be served while frozen. My friend also complained for half portion of burger patty. Feeling bad for the waiter that she wasn’t able to assist or communicate concisely.
I’m sorry but this is ridiculous. I used to order frequently before, but this will be the last time. I was very surprised with this half portion set for $20. How are you going to justify $5 per piece? At least make the website more clear for this change. The sauce tastes different as well. Honestly feeling robbed.
First time ordering here and it was fast, easy and delicious. It’s not spicy but it taste good to me. I honestly don’t see any problem ordering the volcano chicken. If you want something spicy, I would ask for something else in the menu : Would definitely order again since it’s close by!
