My experience purchasing a bike at Cycology Bikes in Castlegar was nothing short of exceptional! I have had the opportunity to purchasing road bikes and mountain bikes in Canada and the USA and I must say this store stands out as the most friendly and supportive professional team I have encountered. Rob and his team are so welcoming and have a mission to provide excellence in the service they provide to the biking community. Regardless of the profession, it is important to recognize individuals who show a passion for their work and truly bring their heart and soul to the workplace on a daily basis. I want to therefore extend a special thanks to Shawn, our salesman, who devoted so much time to make sure my wife and I were informed about the bikes we purchased. Shawn went above and beyond by helping us learn how to gear up and down and use the breaking system in an effective manner. He took us out and let get comfortable riding on the road and on trails. Shawn shared some of his personal experiences and advised us about local trails. We will be forever grateful for his patience, professionalism, and dedication.
Rob and his team are just awesome. I grew up in the area and had a major issue on my bike during a vacation home. All the shops in the area said they had no time and no options for me to get back out on the trails during my vacation. Cycology got me in quickly and had me back on the trails in a couple of days. Don't mess with any other shops in the area. These guys are very skilled, prices are good, and customer service is impeccable. I'll be back to spend some more $$ in Rob's shop soon. Thanks so much
Be prepared to pay a $25 cleaning fee. My bike had just been washed prior to bringing it in and I still got stung with this. This shop is overpriced in my opinion. Simple rear break bleed and one set of pads ended up costing $140.
Worst experience in a bike shop I have ever had in my life. When I brought in my bike for service, after waiting a month and a half for the appointment, the staff was quite friendly. I was told my bike was to be ready on the following Friday, but was not provided with a cost estimate. I did not get a call that my bike was ready until Saturday afternoon and had to cancel cycle plans because of it. I later found out from the mechanic that my bike was ready on the Friday. Shawn, whom I spoke with on the phone on Saturday to advise that my bike was ready confirmed that the store would be open until 5:30 that day. I arrived at 5:20pm and the store was closed. No lights, doors locked, open sign as shut off, the place was dark. The shop did not reopen until Tuesday. When I came in on Tuesday, Shawn instead of apologizing, explained that I was mistaken about when the store closed and that it had only closed at 5:25 !. And although he later apologized, he had counter arguments to deflect ownership of the myriad of errors which unravelled the more questions I asked. There was no explanation as to why when my bike was ready on Friday I didn't get a call until well into the afternoon of the next day. I also found out parts had been changed on my bike without being called to advise of the additional work and that I was being charged for those as well as the labour. I also found out that he didn't take note of who was coming to pick up their bike and called the wrong person to say that they were closing early ! The conversation was patronizing "I'm sure you have made mistakes too in your life" and condescending "Well, when we replace X part we also need to replace X part too or else you are going to complain". No estimate was provided for cost, until the final bill of sale was presented. Although they comped the labour for the part that was replaced on the bike, and discounted the part they had installed without calling me, I was still left with a hefty bill to pay as well as parts and labour I could have done myself had I been called and advised or even provided with a cost estimate of the work needed. I had to stop Shawn multiple times from deflecting blame and explain to him what customer service was. He further indicated that his actions should not reflect the business, even though he is a representative of the business ! The offer that was originally given by the mechanic to help me put my bike into my car was apparently rescinded as well, as was help with keeping the door open while I left the shop with my bike. I am chagrined that I waited so long to be treated so poorly. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I had heard such great things about this place, and I am saddened that this was not my experience. Caveat Emptor.
I had the best bike shop experience of my life here. I was in town for a race and had a major mechanical. Drew and the crew stopped what they were doing and got me rolling. They were friendly and psyched to help.
Adam and his Mechanic were SUPERB! We had just come of the Columbia Western Rail trail from Christina Lake with a minor mechanical. Called ahead as it was the end of the day and these guys stayed open for us and helped put us back on the road. Thanks for your support and laughs. The 650B guy for Delta.. Cheers boys and your town should be super proud of you! Your the Best.. Eat, Shift and Ride!!!

Service was so good, didn't even need to service it. Guy came out and just adjusted my bike in the parking lot. Was minor but still, absolutely polite and decent. I've heard amazing things about this place already, and now I know for sure that this is the place I'll be going to, here on out.
I came to cycology to get a helmet and some gloves as a complete beginner. Shawn walked me through everything and answered any questions I had. Made recommendations based on my skill level and budget and let me know which items they were running deals on. Didn't pressure me into buying anything I didn't need or was too pricy for a beginner. I'll 100% be coming back for any of my biking needs.
I’ve been dealing with Cycology Bike shop for about a year and a half now after a friend from Nelson introduced me to the owner Rob. I have had my e-bike tuned up there, was lucky enough to buy a fat bike last fall from Cycology, and have that tuned ‘this spring before putting it away for the season. The whole staff at Cycology are great deal with. Never any pressure to buy and always happy to take the time to explain a question. It’s been a tough pandemic year and this review is long overdue to a great bike store! Thank you to Rob and the bike mechanics that make the drive over from Nelson worth it. Great job.
