Stayed here in July 2021 for 4 nights. Peaceful and close to everything in Custer. Wooded and friendly environment. Site: Not level. Needed lots of finessing to get close to level. Site backed right up to a fantastic hiking path. Location: So much to do and see within 15-30 min. Restaurants, groceries, and gas stations all within 5 minutes. Wifi: Had trouble connecting to the park provided WiFi.
We really enjoyed our stay. Campground was very quiet and peaceful this time of year. Loved hiking the surrounding hills. Nice views, convenient location to all surrounding areas. Stayed in Cabin, worked well for large group. Owners were very nice and accommodating. Will stay here again if in the area!
Location was pleasant and the campgrounds were well kept. Had good shade in many tent spots and the staff seemed friendly. Access to the camp kitchen was a big plus. Only down side was that traffic from the nearby highway could be heard from our spot.
Loved this campground! Outside of Custer State Park and away from the chaos as well. Privately owned with wonderfully nice and helpful owners. Any rock hound would love this place as there is mica and quartz literally everywhere you look! Super nice bathrooms and showers, and spacious sites. You can buy ice at the office. With potable water, campers kitchen and charging station available in the shower building. We went to Custer SP first only to find out that there were only a few non electric sites left, in the whole park! It was quite the madhouse with tourist traffic and people with cameras standing in traffic & chasing down wildlife. Scaring it away for the rest of us polite observers. So we found Custer Mountain Cabins & Camping by accident and were so grateful we did! We couldn't understand why it wasn't full as well because we found it way better than any campground in CSP itself. And it's only a mile or so outside of it! What we appreciated the most is that it's privately owned and were glad to help out a family business! Dog friendly too!
Very nice quiet campground. Very flexible happy to work with us on getting us to the cabin we wanted. Only deal is that the bathroom and cook kitchen are up at the front. Not a deal breaker.
We had a great stay here! We have a 15ft teardrop trailer that easily fit in one of their large tent spaces. The bathroom/showers are clean and the hosts were very nice. They came up to check on us once we were settled to see if we needed anything. We were able to work off the wifi from the laundry room. They also have a small camper kitchen with a big sink, microwave, and charging station that was super helpful. The RV spots looked a bit packed in, so we were very happy with our tent spot! Highly recommend!
Stayed for 2 weeks in our RV and loved this place. It was very quiet but convenient to town and Custer State Park. The campground is wooded and each site has good space around it. There is also a trail that leaves between site 6 and 7 that leads to a 4 wheel drive road. Great place for daily walks! The campground is a mix of everything, tents, and cabins. Bath house and laundry space was adequate and clean. WiFi is marginal but cell service is fine. Dave the owner was super friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay at this property again.
We recently stayed at Custer Mountain Cabins with friends! We had a wonderful visit! They are centrally located, easy access to anything you'd want to do. The cabin was nice, clean, peaceful. Owners are so helpful! We will most definitely stay again! Highly recommend!
What a wonderful campground this was! The staff was friendly and helpful. The showers/bathrooms were clean and the water was perfect temperature. The cabin I stayed in had a comfortable bed and was clean. Can’t wait to visit again! Would recommend.
Great campground! Everything you need if you’re not self-contained. Great shaded spots for RVs of all lengths. Owners/managers are all very friendly and helpful. Verizon is two steady bars...we were able to work over it for the two weeks we were in the park. Would definitely stay here again.
