Cupcakes At Metrotown

I used to be a regular customer to this place, not anymore. They are too pricey and customer service is degrading! I bought a 11” cake for $85 the other day, they gave it to me in a poor packing… I requested for a change of packaging, they couldn’t accommodate and the response was “we don’t carry boxes for 11” cakes”… I was thinking “why the hell are you selling 11” cakes, if you can’t provide a right box, as the cake became rock solid due to current low temperatures… totally useless! Uncle Tetsu is 10 times better, price and quality wise…

My daughter loves these cupcakes as do I. They are not too sweet and the buttercream icing is very good. My only complaint today is there was no tape on the box when I ordered their largest cupcake and the cardboard box kept on opening up and unfolding completely. Very frustrating, annoying and made a mess of the beautiful icing and toppings.

Got the marble hello kitty cake here, and it's so cute and delicious. The smallest size is good for a small gathering 5-6 people. Their cupcakes are good too. I think this is the only location that can do the hello kitty birthday cake. So nice.

This place is what made me love red velvet with cream cheese frosting but this time the red velvet was rock hard. I contemplated if I should microwave it to soften it up but that would have ruined the icing. I am so disappointed at this place. What happened?

My Favorite pick up Cupcake place. I always take in pairs. My most favorite one is Red Velvet Cupcake followed by Blue Hawaii. Pick up once every month. Yummy cupcakes near me. Also ordered a Custom cake for my nephew. Was really good.

Monica was such a great help today. She’s such a sweet and friendly lady, with great customer service skills. I had the tiramisu, sweet 16, and the red velvet “happy birthday” cupcakes and they were great! They didn’t taste overly sweet, and were so soft. I would definitely recommend paper bags for multiple purchases because it’s much easier to transport the square boxes. I’ll be ordering gluten free / vegan options asap!!

I remember buying cupcakes from here many years ago, and I remember this place serving overly sweet cupcakes. I tried them recently and noticed that their cupcakes especially their icing doesn't taste too sweet anymore. Cake batter tastes moist and not overly sweet. I tried the red velvet and chocolate flavour. Will definitely come back when I'm craving cupcakes!

We tried the 6 mini cupcakes for $10. Then spotted the day olds at 12 for $10. It would have been nice for them to mention that when we said we wanted to try as many flavours as possible. Lemon was sweet with a hint of tart. Coconut was dreamy. Chocolate was okay. Heavy, rich, hint dry and would have been better as a fruit mix. Red velvet was well structured, fluffy center, and melt in your mouth cream cheese icing. Koo koo was underwhelming. It tasted artificially/ oil based sweet. We don't recommend that one at all. Caramella was meh. Okay chocolate cupcake but icing was the same as above and you could barely taste caramel. We would only eat the red velvet, lemon, and coconut again.

I would highly recommend this place for cupcakes and custom cakes! I have tried both kinds of cakes and services from this location: 1. Cupcakes The cupcakes at this place are delicious although some of the flavors can be a miss. Red velvet is a definite favorite, along with the Chocolate cupcakes and the monthly special flavors. The vanilla is just average and so is the Oreo. 2. Custom Cakes Let me start by saying the cakes I had made were BEAUTIFUL. Everyone loved them and they were just amazing. The cake decorator and the rest of the staff are so friendly and easy to work it. They really take the time to make sure they listen to everything you want in a cake and will answer any questions you have. They are extremely patient and it’s nice to know that you aren’t just another customer. Whole cakes can be a little pricey they are worth it because of the flavor and effort put into it. They start from around $30. I had 3 cakes made from here. A cake smash cake, a monster birthday cake, and a drip birthday cake. I was truly satisfied with the end products even though some of the things we discussed were not in the final product. It was probably just a miscommunication, but that’s fine, it’s just the little things which could slip anyone’s mind. Most cakes are crumb coated in VANILLA icing. I ordered a red velvet cake and was disappointed to find out that it wasn’t covered fully in cream cheese frosting. I should have double checked but I guess I wasn’t expecting it to be like that. Need a cake? Come here! They’re great!
