Quiet, out of the way, and the most vicious swarms of mosquitos I have ever seen in my life. They swarmed so bad and we didn't even get out of our car. They came in through the vents...in June. Also the road is covered in snow...in June. Impassable.

Very secluded and off the beaten track. Lots of sites on both sides of the road. Too much gunfire, though, which is extremely uncool in a campground.

Stayed here with a big group of friends in August. We were able to find a VERY large campsite (Site 5D) that was big enough for 5 vehicles and 4 tents with room to spare. This campsite has about 50 sites and even on a busy August weekend, there were still plenty of spaces available (only about 1/3rd of the sites were taken). There are two trailheads at this campsite that lead up to the Pcific Crest and up to Lemnei Rock for gorgeous views. Only 4 stars because it was fairly buggy (flies and mosquitoes abound) and the ~10 miles of dirt road was very dusty for a 5-vehicle caravan.

Cultus Creek is a great place to camp! Secluded among tall fir trees and along two creeks on gentle terrain will make this campground a favorite. It has a real wilderness feel as it is secluded away from major roads and away from major development. Part of this is because it is right next to the beautiful Indian Heaven Wilderness area. Unlike other campgrounds near or on Mt Hood is that access to those campgrounds is to developed making them miss out on the real wilderness feel. We have been going here for years and it is still a top three favorite.
