Cue'n Cushion Billiards & Bar

Great place to go for pool. Single use washrooms. The staff aren't very engaging but friendly enough. Cushion billiards and bar is a nice clean place if your looking for a get together with friends. Recommended if your looking to play pool on Bank street.

If you are brown or black skin, I don't recommend you going to this place because eventually you will experience what I have experienced tonight @ 10:30 pm ( St. Patrick day ). My friend and I were playing pool and 3 white girls started playing pool on the table beside us. I noticed that they are beginners, as one of the girls was miscued couple shots on the break. I just told them “use chalk”, that was the only single thing I said to them. They went and talked to the owner of this place. The came to our table and told us that we should leave the pool because he can not tolerate misbehaviour. I don't know what hell the girls told him about us. I told the owner “why are u doing this, i just told them to use chalk!”. He didn't listen to me, he didn't let me explain anything and he kicked us out of the place. The owner of this place didn't care if whatever the girls told him was right or wrong, he just kicked us out of the place. The only reason could be because i was brown skin and my friend was black skin, he didn't even wanted to listen to us, it was not even important to him whatever i explained. But whatever the 3 white girls told him (even though they lied) was so important to him. Well if we were white skin, I am sure that this wouldn't have happened! What happened tonight proved to me that how RACIST the owner of this place is. Its very sad that people judge you based on your skin colour. I used to go to this place a lot and I was one of his fixed customers, but skin colour was more important to the owner of this place.

Decent pool hall. Pros: good atmosphere, pool tables are in good shape for the most part. BIG con: it is cash only. Unacceptable in 2017. Last week I paid with a card at a farmer's market. Why would a pool hall in downtown Ottawa not accept debit or credit? They have one of those expensive independent ATM machines that I absolutely refuse to use. It is a cash grab. They don't want to pay for the privilege of having debit/credit and probably make a cut off the horrible machine at your expense. It's not a good business model. They've lost a few beer sales from me alone because I refuse to use the machine. When will businesses learn? Nobody carries cash anymore.

Not bad. Honestly I have only been here twice...both acceptable experiences. Some pretty overly sensitive and wanky wanna be pros some times.

Super nice owner and staff. Great for our staff Christmas party and they let us bring in food!
