Crusty Baker

First time stopping in. I was very disappointed in the pecan pie I bought to bring home and surprise my spouse with. I had high hopes after reading the reviews. But the pecans and the crust were burnt. At least the pie filling in the middle was good.

Best bakery you will find in the Ottawa area. Baguettes are phenomenal, and the butter tarts are mind alteringly good.

Today was my first time at the Crusty Baker. I live in the city and only get out to Kemptville about once a month. Anyway! I got there about two minutes before closing, and sheepishly came in to hopefully grab some treats quickly before they closed. Usually this is met with side eye from employees who want to head home as well. There was none of that, the guy at the counter was so nice, didn't rush me along while I was drooling over the baked goods, and was very friendly! I obviously sampled everything I bought and it's all amazing. The maple tart was fantastic, and now I'll be trekking it to Kemptville for more goodies ASAP, because nothing in the city I've had compares.

Good bakery. Coffee / latte was OK. Soup was also OK.

By far one of my favourite places. Try the pecan pie or tortiere Or anything else for that matter. You won't be disappointed.
