Reviews
Delicious crêpes, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed ourselves, the owner was very welcoming, he even showed us his cart where it all began from humble beginnings to a restaurant. Highly recommend this place.
The best crêpes you’ll find in the area. We came twice for lunch and both experiences were great. Service is super friendly though on the slow side, and food is excellent. We tried the classic complète , and the tarticlette . The sarrasin was good: not too strong, not too dry, and all the ingredients were of quality. I was a bit surprised to find mashed potatoes in the 2nd galette, as it’s usually made with sliced potatoes. The result was a bit mushier than it could have been, but not a big deal. For dessert, we had a butter & sugar crêpe. Despite its basic ingredients, it’s often disappointing, as you need high-quality butter and the right texture. This one was perfect, one of the best I’ve had
Hands down the best crepes I have ever had in the US. The restaurant was beautiful and cozy, the selection was phenomenal, and the owner and waitstaff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Loved the food so, so much, definitely will be visiting every time I come to New Haven.
The crepes are delicious and highly filling; the savory crepes use buckwheat flour, which produces a thicker and less delicate mouthfeel - just something to note depending on your flour preferences. As a pescatarian, I’ve had the Forestiére and salmon options. Service on the weekend when it’s really crowded can be slow.
Just walking in the door as the sweet aroma hits you is a treat! We ordered one sweet and one savory crepe and they were both amazing, highly recommend! The staff was very nice, service was timely and food was excellent.
Cute vibes, expensive crêpes taste decent. Don’t get their cappuccino
A little taste of Paris in New England! Came in for brunch with my son and it was our first visit, and certainly won't be our last! The food was so delicious and the owner was friendly and welcoming.
Adil and his brother absolutely made our wedding day!!! Their crepes and champagne carts were the focal point of our wedding! The crepes were delicious and the champagne cart were perfect, our guests are still talking about how tasty the crepes were. Thank you again Adil, you gave us the most magical day & we'll never forget it! We can't wait to come visit you in New Haven & enjoy some more crepes <3
We tried the "Piaf" and "Amour et jalouse" sweet crepes, and both were very tasty. If you're in the mood for Nutella crepes, you should go for the Amour et jalouse. If you feel like something lighter, the Piaf might be the better choice even though ours barely had any white chocolate despite what's on the menu. Giving this 4 stars as service can be improved. There was only one other couple in the store when we visited and the crepes still took more than 20 minutes to be ready.
I first when here after a cold, wet day in October after jury duty. I was miserable and wanted something warm, sweet, and freshly made. I found Choupette on Google Maps. I was greeted with warm smiles, warm food, and a warm atmosphere. After spending enough time, I forgot I was even in New Haven! I could spend a whole day there watching them make crepes which are both sweet and savory! Try the Piaf which is the best sweet one for me! The staff in incredible and I don't know how anyone could say they have an attitude like I've read in a review here. Maybe you caught them on a bad day? And ya know what, everyone has those and they're only human so they're entitled to that. My husband and I have decided to try making it here once a month because it has become one of my favorite places to eat in CT and I've lived here almost my whole life!
