My mom was placed here start of November. I have had nothing but bad experiences. Staff never around, my mother has been dropped 5 times in 3 weeks. They have no qualified nurses. If family raise concern the nurses get worse to patients. No organizing or communication between departments. Type a care neglect. Some left for hours in thier wheelchairs
My Husband is in YouVille and he tells us his Family all the time how terrible the food is, I haventalked to several people about the food and it doesn’t improve.nNow for the last 3 weeks his room has been cold,nthere is no heat in it. He has complained and Inhave talked to the receptionist about this matternand nothing gets done.nCan’t believe YouVille can get away with treatingntheir patients the way they do.
Our mother is now living in this place and we are very happy with the staff and programming. I was a little concerned with the negative reviews when we first considered this location, but since our mother left the hospital, she has continued to recover thanks to the stimulating environment. She enjoys the outings and the exercise programs, and relates well to the staff, all of whom know her by name. I talked to a family member of another resident, who had some familiarity with other nursing homes, and she regarded this one as a better option even though it was a distance for them to travel. We thought it would be a sad day when we needed to put our mother into extended care but she is very content where she is.
My sister in law and dear friend has MS which has forced her to stay in long term care even though she is o my 60. I visit her every Sunday and sometimes during the week. I have always found the care to be exceptional. My sister-in-law has lived at different care facilities in Edmonton and I won’t even begin to tell you the frightful things I have witnessed.nThe Youville was a breath of fresh air. It is really clean and I can see that the caregivers there care about the residents well being.nI do think it’s better suited for elderly residents at as most of them seem to be over 80.nnIm not sure where these bad reviews came from but I just had to say that some of public care long term facilities in the Edmonton are really lacking in basic care.nI think private companies overall do a better job because they have to compete with each other. But the Youville home does a great job with what they are doing.
Excellent people who work here. They care for the residents well.
