Costco Wholesale

Its like all Costco.s. Only thing I don't like is there is no standing area to eat. There isn't enough seating area so I know I'm advance not to count on having lunch there. It takes nothing to put up a counter to eat without having to ask someone if you can sit at their table. I was there the other day at 3pm. Lots of room to eat. There is lots of room to put in a counter. Hope management reads this review.

I like this Costco - This is a review of the OPTICAL CENTER only. We wanted to purchase my daughters monthly contact lenses there to save a little money. She already wears monthly contacts. We stopped by the optical center near closing one day to check prices and they cost of the contacts she wears was significantly lower, but we were not allowed to purchase without having a "fitting" done. Made an appointment and returned. We arrived for the appointment about 2 minutes late but the lady behind the counter was helping someone else anyway. Waited about 10-15 minutes before she acknowledged we were there and asked if she could help us. We told her we had made an appointment for 5 pm and were scolded for being late. We said we've been here for the last 15 minutes and you ignored us. She said we should have interrupted. She then told us that it was too late to fit us into the 5pm appointment but there was an opening at 5:30 and we would have to wait till then (There was no one else around at this time) She changed her mind and took my daughter in right away , but then told her that she couldn't do a proper fitting because there wasn't enough time (again, there was no one else there and she already told us the 5:30 appointment was open.) She then tried to up sell us on more expensive daily contacts because my daughter was too young for monthly contacts (she already wears them - given to her by her optometrist). The monthly contact price she quoted us was higher than we had been shown a few days before - but she wouldnt sell them to us anyway. She then told us the monthly contacts are available to buy from other places online if we really wanted them. Don't go there! Rude, not professional, and frankly not very bright.

This Costco is not as busy as the other locations in Edmonton! Their parking lot is really big and they have all the same services including Tire Centre, Gas Bar, Food Court, Deli, Pharmacy and Hearing Centre! This location also has a liquor store. It is located just outside. This store seems bigger than the other stores. They also carry a different mix of clothing.

Kudos to Jodi P. Recently my husband of 55 years passed away and I called Capital One MC to notify them. Since my husband was the primary card holder they immediately cut off his card and also mine. At about the same time I received a Capital One annual cash back reward cheque which was made out in my husbands name. Upon talking with Capital One MC I was abruptly told that I no longer had credit and if I wanted to go to Costco I could apply for a new card. They did not tell me what would happen to the cash back reward cheque and it sounded like they didn't care because my husband was deceased and the rewards cheque was made out to him. Resultant to the recent passing of my husband and all of the paper work that it generated needles to say I was very stressed and consequently upset with Capital One and how callously they dealt with me. Thankfully my family made a phone call to this Costco location and we were passed on to a great person in the membership department ( Jodi P ) , who was respectful, compassionate and understanding . She handled everything very promptly and professionally with in about 24hours. I can't thank her and Costco enough for treating me with the respect and compassion that everyone in this position should be treated with. Capital One MC did not care , but Costco did. I continue to be a loyal Costco customer and just wish that all companies would adopt these type of policies. Thank you Jodi P and the Whitemud Costco Team for doing what so many others don't do and exercising common sense and being respectful to your loyal customers.

Generally I like going to this Costco because it is 5 minutes away from my house. The food court, retail side and customer service desk is very good; no complains here. I have to say the staff at the tire centre are unprofessional. It's like talking to a bunch of teenagers and they are goofing off in front of customers. When I take my car to get new sets of tires, they would take off the metal caps for the air valve (replace them with plastic ones) and the hardware that came with the c-wheels kit for no reason. I would consider this stealing because I paid for them. The only reason I didn't complain because they gave them back to me when asked. I'm not impressed.
