Cortland Park Rehabilitation

I had gone here and applied, I want to obtain my CNA. They have classes they offer l. I went in and asked for an application for the CNA classes. They called me in to an interview. I'm thinking that either way If they wanted to hire me or not I would still be eligible to participate in the course, since ya know I figured I lived in a world of equal opportunity. Instead I received a letter stating that they were impressed but were passing because someone else was more qualified! So now I don't get to take the class. And wouldn't I be just as qualified if you allowed me to take my CNA. So now I feel discouraged, since applying to take this class was a big step for me. I am also feeling completely DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. This is wrong, if you didn't want to hire me fine. How are you able to turn me away from an education. This place is a joke! I'm glad they didn't hire me, discrimination is wrong. What happened to equal opportunity.

My aunt has only been there a month, but I have been very impressed with the staff. She has dementia and is in the secured area called Whispering Pines. I have been impressed with the patience and good nature of everyone I have come into contact with. And they hold "family meetings" at least every quarter; more often if the family requests it. At these meetings they have representives from activities director to social worker to medical staff give updates on how she is doing, what activities she has participated in, and any medicine or other therapy changes have occurred. In addition to these meetings, I have spoken with staff during regular visits, and today I got a call from a rep asking several questions to ascertain how I feel she is being treated and cared for.
