Cortland Convenient Care

I’m really just writing the review to BEG Cortland to increase their convenient care facilities. Maybe there is already a plan to that I’m not aware of but we really need it. I tried bringing both of my children at separate times to check for strep after being sent home from school and we waited for over an hour with no prospect of being seen for a while longer. It was suggested that I try pre-registering so I recently tried that for myself, drove to Cortland, and was told there were still several people in front of me so I slept in my care feeling awful for 3 hours.

Ripoff artists. I went in for a sinus infection several months ago - standard visit - saw doc got meds. Supposed to be a $35 copay. Insurance company paid the rest. Somehow, their crappy third party billing company has decided that even though our insurance company paid the bill, we still owe them. I spoke to a doctor for maybe 5-7 minutes and the total was $716!! They wanted $359 more dollars than the insurance company paid. Every time we called to discuss the bill, we got different answers that made no sense and/or contradicted each other. It's not about the money. In fact, we are now going to spend more money suing them on general principle. Stay away from this place. We live in Tully and have always gone north for our urgent care needs. We've had us or our kids into Upstate ER and urgent care about 5 times in the last few years(boys!) and NEVER had this kind of issue. These people are truly scammers. EDIT: After a month of weekly calls to them, more to waster their time more than anything else(In fact, one call lasted over 30 minutes. My wife won the prize!) - all of a sudden our balance is zero! They said our insurance company paid it. Our insurance company said they haven't paid a thing. The scammers gave up.

Similarly to previously posted experiences be very careful of this place and absolutely make sure your insurance is considered in network as they will bill you both a facility fee and professional fee for the physicians with a total cost of ~$600 - 1,000 depending on your visit. My wife went here for a 15 minute ear ache believing that it was "convenient" care and would be billed similar to the urgent care near our house on long island. Unfortunately that is not the case and our insurance does not cover out of network "urgent" care. As such they are trying to bill us the full "charge master" price which is a completely inflated figure. Anyway we have tried amicably to resolve this through multiple calls, letters and emails and the medical centers perspective is that they have nothing to do with the physicians. This is a perfect insight into the unsustainable costs of the US health care industry.

Call ahead service is awesome. If you know you are going to be there for an illness or injury, you can pre-register and receive a call when they would be ready for you.

I am a TC3 student and yesterday I went to this urgent care facility and let me tell you it looks amazing in there haha. I wish I could see more facilities like this one in the city. The office is spanking clean, the staff are polite, the wait is not crazy long, it just so happen that there was a lot of people when I went. All in all I recommend people to go here when every they need help.
