Cortado Tasting Room brings a brand new coffee culture to Halifax. Focused on core principles of coffee extraction, we take fundamentals seriously. We only use triple filtered water, freshly roasted coffee – never past 7 days, and precise brewing methods. Cortado Tasting Room carries the widest range of single brew methods in the region to brew the perfect cup for every one.

The highlight of Cortado Tasting Room is the single-serve bar. From beans to cup, guests can experience the entire process of a perfect brew. At the single-serve bar, you can find hand brew equipment like the Chemex, Siphon, Aeropress and the French Press, among others. Work with our Baristas to find your favourite!

I got a mocha latte, definitely the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee, this is the place. The food was mediocre, had a breakfast burrito, it wasn’t bad by any means but it wasn’t great. My food actually got taken by an impatient customer. Had to go up and ask, it didn’t seem like anyone wanted to help me when I was standing at the counter to see about my food. The customer service could use a bit of an improvement. Over all a great experience. Will be back.

My first visit to the cortado was definitely worth the time and dollars for an experience with my coffee and a really great sandwich.  The preparation of my coffee and the selection of the beans to be freshly ground and used immediately was an experience all by itself. My coffee consultant was extremely knowledgeable and explained how the coffee was processed and roasted with all of the tasting notes to back it up. Normally I would add cream and sugar or stevia but this coffee needed nothing but a cup to savour every drop.
Take some time out of your busy day and focus some Zen like attention on just getting things right and taking pleasure in a truly great coffee.

This was priceless. I went for my Saturday coffee and walked out with a cool new single coffee pour over system. There is a reason I'll drive out of my way just to get a coffee here. The owner answered all of my questions and let me try different beans. His customer service is second to none. My roommate and I have tried several different types of brewing and beans and never had one we didn't love.

Great staff, kind owners and awesome coffee. Amongst the most knowledgeable baristas I've met.....a MUST visit for the best tea/coffee.
