Story

Cordaro's Restaurant is a family run business that was first opened on Main Street of Honesdale by Phil and Charlmaine Cordaro in May of 1954. We pride ourselves on homemade, full-flavored American classic meals that will make you want to come back over and over again. The diner area of the restaurant, first known as "Phil's Diner", offers a classic old Americana diner feel, including personal jukeboxes at each booth and a spacious counter. On the left side of the diner, you'll find an eloquent dining room that accommodates larger groups for family and friend gatherings. Cordaro's Restaurant boasts a large banquet area with a dance floor to host your full service parties. Located in the rear of the building, you can relax and enjoy the "CC lounge"; a full bar with happy hour and daily drink specials.

Okay place. Nice old time setting with the jukebox on the tables. Food is good, though portions are often the smaller side for the area. Clean place. Best iced tea around.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch with our daughter a week or two back. We stepped in and weren't greeted, so we figured it was a "seat yourself" setup. There is a cafe style section to the right, and a restaurant style section to the left, we chose the latter. We sat down, found a highchair, and waited. And waited. And waited a bit more. After giving my daughter some snacks we had packed to hold her over, I decided to get up and get the menus myself. I found them on the cafe side, along with three waitresses and a cook. I grabbed the menus and let them know my family and I were on the other side and would like to order soon. We picked through the menu and made our decisions, and waited for someone to come take our orders. And waited. And waited. After being in the restaurant for about 30 minutes and still not even being greeted, we decided to leave and have lunch elsewhere. Just to make sure I listened for a chime on the door on the way out, and there was one. Perhaps it was an off day. My wife has eaten there with friends before and never had a bad experience. It was my first time and I was looking forward to trying the food out. Maybe some day in the future I can.

Service and food were awful. Wait staff could have cared less. Our sandwiches were bad. Mine was roast beef on toast. Actually it was fatty beef on white - not toast. The person I had lunch with asked for crisp toast and got black burned toast. Do no recommend.

Had the Tilapia it was perfect and service was great compliments to chef and crew
