Story

Congregation Schomre Israel has served the Orthodox Jewish community of the scenic Mid-Hudson area for more than 120 years. Guests, as well as our members, enjoy the congenial atmosphere of our services and social activities. At Schomre, we cater to the spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of Jews of all ages.

Schomre Israel fulfills the four major functions necessary for an Orthodox Jewish congregation; it is a house of worship, of study, and for assembly and daily minyon. Daily, Shabbat and YomTov services are conducted in our beautiful sanctuary. Study sessions and lectures are provided by the Rabbi, the Rebbitzin, as well as distinguished guest speakers. Social activities include Kiddushim and both holiday and special event dinners prepared by the Sisterhood.
