Comox Valley Airport - YQQ

WHY use this airport? Super easy in-out ... if you have family flying onto the island, this airport gives the greatest views on approach. Convenient parking with plenty of well-placed ticket machines (don't forget to put one on your dashboard). Food and snack options are good - makes waiting more fun!

Draconian security screening, tossed my whole carryon because it contained a few electronics. Rose seemed to take pleasure in lecturing me while dumping the entire contents of my bag. Supervisor stood by during so I'm assuming this type of behavior is encouraged. The WESTJET checkin clerk advised about a lengthy process but I found it completely ridiculous. Hopefully I never have to fly out of this airport ever again.

Friendly helpful plus it's beautiful Hard to believe you get treated this way. Maybe if some seniors will just move in , perhaps special needs Could we have more if this service ❤️

Typical airport, its somewhat small. My experience was tainted by an over-zealous security person. My suitcase was about 3 feet away while I was having something to eat at the cafe. The security person asked very loudly who the suitcase belonged to. I told her it was mine and she curtly responded "You aren't supposed to leave your luggage unattended!" The people around me laughed at the ridiculousness of the situation. I tried to explain to her it wasn't unattended, however, she was digging her heels in. I ignored her response, got up and moved the suitcase 3 feet so she'd go away.
