What a lovely deli to stumble upon when visiting from out of town. It is beautiful!nI consider myself a hobbit at heart and the vibe here is perfect. The butternut cream soup was fantastic, as was my latte. I wish I could have stayed longer to try more things.nThe staff were warm and welcoming. It was also very clean. You could feel the heart put into this deli.nLunch here was exactly what I needed for my long drive home, thank you so much!
Just adding another 5 star review to this exceptionally awesome restaurant.nnHeard lots of good things about the Yellow Deli and they were all true.nnI was initially impressed by how spotlessly clean the place is, even the outdoor patio which is really nice. Bathroom felt like you were visiting someone’s home.nnStaff were incredibly friendly and efficient. Service couldn’t have been better. Felt very comfortable and relaxed in the incredibly cool environment they created.nnI ordered a cold Hibiscus tea and a corn beef sandwich which was melt in your mouth goodness. Not sure where they get their bread from but it was so darn tasty.nnIt gives me great pleasure to support such a well run, fabulous business. I live in Parksville, but will definitely be stopping by the Yellow Deli every time I’m here.
I stopped in here for dinner today as I'd heard good things about this place and they didn't disappoint.nnThe owner greeted me warmly immediately and had me sit down at one of their unique wooden tables. She explained that everything from the bread to the hand soap in the washrooms is made in house and gave me a quick rundown of the menu.nnI ordered the Deli Rose sandwich and a bowl of chilli with a cold apple cider and it all hit the mark. The sandwich was steamed and turned out absolutely delectable, the meat in the chilli was tender and gave the impression of well seasoned meatloaf chunks, and the side chips were perfectly crispy, and salty.nn100% would recommend.
This place is amazing on so many levels. The staff is welcoming to anyone crossing their threshold. The warm and cozy west coast atmosphere inside is like coming home. The menu selection has a delightful simplicity of wholesome options. Be careful when the Reuben is served because it will be piping hot inside which stands out from other establishments.nOne of the finest examples of Island dining and hospitality that I've seen in several decades, so happy to wave the flag for these folks.
The food was very good quality. The sandwiches come with potato chips which was very underwhelming for the price. But the chicken sandwich was very good with a very soft bun. My partner had soup which was also very good tasting.nnThe service was blunt for the most part with some awkward interactions. As if the server isn't a very social person. But no mistakes were made which is the most important thing.nnThe decor of this establishment is superb and something to behold. I would definitely come here again and would try the home made coleslaw over the chips because that might be better value for money.
