I would like to express my gratitude for Ida Colby and her teams fast service in completing my businesses audit on such a quick timeline. Ida and her team clearly laid out what was needed on their end to complete the task, had provided us with a portal to securely upload the information, and within a couple of weeks our report was done and ready to sign. Ida Colby of Colby Steckly Chartered Professional Accountants goes out of her way to help nonprofits by answering their accounting questions. This week Ida assisted a new local nonprofit by answering questions about their year end requirements, audits, notice to reader, grant requirements and the costs usually associated with these services. The nonprofit was so grateful.
Where do I start?. There are many accountant services provided in Edmonton in many price ranges. I was searching for a competent service with a reasonable price and, in a perfect world, would also be able to provide that personal service assure me all my financial and tax needs were taken care of. I reached out to the business, and they set me up with Candy Lam. She has been excellent and highly knowledgeable in the field as well, and she was able to find items in my taxes that many long-term accountants that I used in the past were unaware of. I will add that the long-term accountants came with an invoice that clearly didn't justify the lack of knowledge I clearly see that they did have. I very much love the TAX PORTAL they set up to make everything electronic, which saves those with busy schedules a lifesaver, and the virtual meetings help with questions. I will say that I can confidently say that I have found the business I will be using going forward, and I will entrust Candy Lam with all my tax needs. I am sure that many other competent individuals are working there, so I am sure you will receive the same service. I usually dont write such an extensive review, but you want to share it with others when you have a business like this. Thank you once again!
Love the team at Colby-Steckly! Jennifer is very responsive and knowledgeable. As a small business owner, it is very helpful to have her in my corner and her amazing team backing us up. The accounting techs have helped me problem solve especially as I was hiring my first employee and figuring out payroll etc. Jen was also great at helping us transfer our accounting services from BC to AB for my husband's Corp, too. One stop shop for all your accounting needs. They also help with bookkeeping services!
Jennifer and her team are helpful and responsive. Tax planning as a small business owner can be challenging, but the team has always taken the time to explain things thoroughly and answer my questions in detail. Their office is clean and organized, they run completely paperless, and they have good digital security measures in place. I would definitely recommend them to other businesses in Edmonton that are looking for a competent accounting firm.
