My mother and I went to Coco's nails in Fairfield CT today 9/11/17 in order for us both to enjoy having a manicure. Unfortunately, the nail technician was extremely rude to me, and incompetent, as she did not even carefully apply the color, which was smeared on two of my toes. I was not going to complain, but as I was later escorted to the drying area - I was immediately confronted and told "pay bill!" "Pay bill!" This of course was so odd, as I was obviously with my mother, having come in with her, and sat next to her during the entirely of our treatment time. However, I immediately reached into my purse, and handed her my credit card, at which she exclaimed " No Cash!!??" No Cash"!!?? Afraid, I shook my head, "No, this is all I have." I'm with my mom". She rolled her eyes, then grabbed my Visa card, and returned a couple of minutes later, again, yelling (yes, yelling!) at me "TIP!" "TIP!" I responded, "Can I put the tip on the card?" At this point, my mother's nail tech was done with her pedicure, and she witnessed this strange women continuing her rant against me, persisting to demand a "cash only tip" from me. I continued to rummage through my purse for any cash I could gather, when my mother appeared, confused as to what was going on. The two cashiers then became nervous, and backed away, as my mother shot them a glaring look, and questioned why I even had my credit card out. I can honestly tell you, after having pedicures and manicures in 12 different countries and 30 plus different cities, I have never encountered such low life, crass, usurious predators as these! Just because I look like (and am) a college student, doesn't mean that I do not deserve the same respect as a middle-aged customer. How disrespectful and rude!!! Stay away! Treating your first time customers LIKE PIECES OF DOG MANURE will indeed ensure that they most definitely will never return! And...yeah... geniuses - they'll probably tell as many others as they can. Stupid. Crass.Incompetent. Imbeciles. Devoid of well bred manners.

Originally, I asked for a gel manicure in pink. Then changed my mind to a REGULAR GEL FRENCH manicure. This guy (I don't even know his name nor care) did the french tip, and coated my whole nail in a frosty white so it looks messy and absolutely hideous. When I told him he wasn't doing what I was asking, his response "I already did one hand." Um, okay? I don't really care. It doesn't take that long to take this off and redo it. The place is empty right now and has been for the past freaking 45 minutes since I have been here...clearly you don't have anything else to do, even if it wasn't a matter of putting the guest first and making sure we are satisfied. HE IS SITTING 2 TABLES AWAY FROM ME ON HIS PHONE AND NOT DOING ANYTHING RIGHT NOW. SERIOUSLY!? Like, don't give me attitude for something YOU ARE AT FAULT FOR. You get what you deserve...especially if you don't take responsibility for your mistake. WHICH WAS A QUICK FIX. LITERALLY. AND I KNOW there wasn't any miscommunication because I repeated myself 5x's (he blamed it on that). SERIOUSLY. Terrible service. Like, I didn't come to pay $50 for disappointment. Oh wait, he gave me a $10 discount. Wow! $40 for a bad time - what a great deal. And I started tearing because I am so annoyed that he wouldn't go back and fix it. I am taking this off my nails as soon as I get home...it is that ugly. AND I told him at the BEGINNING BEFORE ANY PAINTING WAS DONE that TODAY is my 25th birthday. Recommend: 0/100. Unless you want to be in a horrible mood the rest of the day...then this is the place to come to. He is lucky my mom is here to calm me down. Oh yeah, let me mention it again...TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY. Getting your nails done is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable experience...and it was exactly opposite that. Yeah, I'm making a big deal out of this but I'm pretty sure anyone would for having to pay as much as I did for clear disappointment. And he didn't try at all to help solve the issue...except finish his mistake. Because that won't make anyone upset...right? Serious disrespect from this guy and he should probably be educated on the proper nail services so he knows what he is doing before he upsets another customer. Or even better, go get a job somewhere else at like a grocery store where clearly his lack of skills would be a perfect fit (and I mean this in a nice way). I WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE A .01 STAR OUT OF 5. NOTHING. Also, the lady doing my moms nails just stared at me telling the guy I'm not happy and didn't even try to intervene and offer ANY SOLUTION AT ALL. Never have I ever written a review, so this is my first one...and I sincerely hope changes are made around here and/or this place gets shut down.

I have been going here for years. I see James for a beautiful Gel manicure and Laura for a pedicure. I have always been treated great and walk out feeling very taken care of. I have tried many of the spas in the Fairfield and Westport are and this is my favorite. The spa is also very very clean which is very important to me.

This review is only based on their 20% gift certificate offer they are currently running. The lady running the place does not know how to do math..or she is deliberately trying to swindle people by a few bucks. The offer is 20% OFF gift certificates, meaning, if I want to purchase a gift certificate worth $120.00 I should be charged $96.00 seeing that 20% off of $120 is $24. However, the lady tried to "explain" / "offer" a gift certificate worth $120 but wanted to charge me $100 since adding 20% of 100 is $20. The offer is not to ADD 20% to what you want to pay - it's to offer 20% OFF the value that you want. Totally different math and she just did not understand that. I walked out and she got $0.00 from me - even though James is simply the BEST gel manicurist I've ever been to and they offer a clean, comfortable environment - I will likely be looking elsewhere now.
