My wife and I ate there before the Sens game on a Saturday night. It was a nice place to eat and different from the usual pub food. I had a seafood pasta and she had short ribs. Both were excellent. All the staff were great. A little bit pricey but to be expected. If you want a good mean in a nice environment before an event, check it out.
$58.00 + taxes for buffet before Michael Buble concert Oct 14th in Ottawa, for the choice of an appetizer, the buffet was medium rare roast beef, the chafing stainless steel containers to keep food warm were left open so food was COLD, there was cauliflower , white rice, mushy french fries, small cutup potatoes with zuchinini, roasted chicken and sausage pasta. Our waiters had 2 tables total of 24 people and my friend and I. They offered us free dessert. We had gone to Mandarin Chinese Buffet and it was much tastier and 1/2 the price. TOTAL rip off. Informed the waiter and hostess.
We had the Valentines Day meal before the Sens vs Flames game and had an issue with the meal that was quickly resolved by server and management. Very impressed thank you.
Had a fantastic meal with even better service last night at Club Red before Rod Stewart concert. Couldn't have asked for a more pleasant dining experience! Don't let the reviews sway you because we were nervous also - our sever was exceptional her name was Ute
Our server, Rebecca, was very nice. She worked very hard to serve us well. The drinks were very good. I had a Cosmo, which was fresh and delightful. The appetizers we're the best part of the meal. Our steaks we're very undercooked and our lobster came out separate from our main. The dessert was poor, unfortunately. This was okay dining for an arena, but certainly is not up to par with fine dining in Ottawa. The staff were delightful and kind. FYI - there is no dress code at this restaurant, and the cost is $$$.
We went before the Barack Obama event and reservations were for 5:00 pm so we wouldn’t be rushed. Our waiter did his best. The fault lies with management for understaffing the restaurant. Club Red is trying to be a fine dining restaurant and they are not even close, except in the prices. We waited 10 minutes for the waiter to arrive. The food was mediocre at best. One of the worst dining experiences ever for $300.00! At the end we had to wait another 10 minutes to find a machine to pay the bill. Golden Palace egg rolls in the concourse would have been better!
We ate at Club Red prior to a concert at the CTC on September 14. No complaints about the food. But the service was horrible. Throughout our meal our server barely came to our table, never asked if we would like a refill of our beverages despite our empty glasses and never once filled our water glasses. Despite trying to get his attention, we were completely ignored and ate our dinner with not even a glass of water on the table. Then, we waited 30 minutes after the bus person had cleared our dinner plates for our server to come to our table, again even though we tried to get his attention, only to have him suddenly arrive with our bill before asking if we would like dessert or coffee or even water. There are many restaurants in Ottawa at this price point that offer amazing food AND amazing service. Club Red isn't one of them. A disappointment. We will not go back.
I went in before the Cher concert. We were told the doors to the CTC would open at 6:30 . We stood outside in the cold. They did not open until 7:00 leaving us half hour to eat. We ordered wine at the bar to which the waiter up sold a bottle of Villa Maria, 17.95 at LCBO for 76.00. Claiming cheaper to buy the bottle. .....as it usually is....not this time. We had time for a bowl of soup. We told him we were in a rush and could only get the soup. Our waiter’s attitude was so rude. I guess we didn’t order enough. His attitude was very insulting and when we paid him he took the money and ran making me wish I hadn’t tipped him at all. I complained to the woman manager with dark hair and she said oh sorry. I really didn’t feel the love at all. Suggestion for all.....eat off piste. This restaurant was disappointing.
The chef was most excellent. Everything outside the plate was a disaster - spilt wine, server classless, no water unless you beg for it, 2 buns for two people one grain, one white, a wait for more butter, more horse radish, $184 later. Basically no class at all.
Went there for my husband birthday dinner before the game and what a dissapointment!!!! Service was aweful and rude, steaks were not cooked properly and took forever and they even charged us for our full meal even though we returned it. What an aweful experience for the price
