Very enjoyable and organized workshop: painting ceramics with baby goats. July 10th. Goats were very cute and amusing and playful. Liked being fed by participants. Everyone got a picture of the goats if they wanted. Organizers were helpful with replenishing paints and answering questions re: techniques. Overall fun and creative atmosphere.
The instructor was friendly and knowledgeable. The class was challenging but taught in a way that it felt approachable. Fun and relaxed atmosphere. My sister, Mom and I had a ball!
My group of three were booked for an ACOTAR night, unfortunately due to the lack of interest, on the day of the event I received a call to advise the event was canceled. However, I was told our party could still come in and paint pieces and use the silk screens but it would not be hosted by a dedicated staff member or be set up in the party room. When we arrived we were greeted by the sole staff member who was working and she went above and beyond to still set up a table and put out decorations for us in the main area and helped all of us pick a great piece and made sure we knew how to get the most out of our time there. When it came to the silk screening of the pieces, she made sure each piece was handled with care and loved our ideas for the decals. So even though we didn’t get the full experience of the ACOTAR night I alone have previously done an ACOTAR night and raved about it to the group with me we had an excellent evening hosted by an enthusiastic, kind and helpful staff member. Oh, and did I mention that while she was providing us exceptional service she alone was still helping all the other patrons in the store! We can’t wait to get our pieces!! I’ll attach photos of my piece, keep in mind it’s not fired yet so the colours are not vibrant.
The instructor was lovely and kind, we really liked that she let us have creative freedom encouraging it. Not stingy on the clay either if we wanted an extra small piece to add that was fine. It was a great class night hope to go again. Also the class size was perfect I can't stand classes of 25-30 people it is just chaos and you are on your own.
Last night was one of the best nights we have had for painting.We do this every year for Christmas and this painting is my favourite.nThe instructor was the best we have had took her time explaining gave us tips and encouragement as well let us take our artistic mindset with our paintings .she was also funny and able to have fun conversations with we all learned a little about each other in the proceeds also .It was a great bunch of people and a wonderful instructor made for the best night .Merry Christmas to everyone at Clay cafe .Enjoy your families and I hope you all get some much needed rest .See you in the new yearnGail and Beth Reid
