Do not borrow from them, please just go to your bank! Google ACORN and Fairstone and you will have all the information you need. This company is full of scams and predators. They will give you an offer for a much higher interest than the amount you borrowed. Do not sign with them, they will sneak in extra insurances. They did that to me, I went in to cancel only to find out they left in one more after that! And since it was past the 30 day cancellation, I couldn't get a full refund.
If in need of some funds Fairstone is a place I recommend looking into. The staff at the Cambie St. branch are not just professional, informative and well spoken. They are also helpful and non judgmental.
I was wanting to get a loan and they totally scammed me. I had a loan at another place and they said that the other place had such high interest and that I should go with them as there interest was 32.99%. What I didn't understand and was never told was that it was compounded. So this was a year ago, so since getting a 4000.00 loan they signed me up for some insurance that I never asked for and owe the 5570 total. I pay $128 bi weekly. So I've paid $3072 in twelve months. But they say I still owe $3000 and they have stretched it over 36 months so after I actually finish paying it off I will have paid $9000.+. The guy was a fast talker and they didn't even send me a copy of the contract.
Fine print you are not told about it the annual fee of $21 with accruing interest so even when you pay off your entire balance, they come back a couple of months later saying you are late with your fees with this bogus annual fee. You have to call them and cancel otherwise they will keep sending you charges and then to credit collection agency. Rude staff, terrible service and good thing is I will never use this terrible Fairstone company again.
!!!SCAM ALERT!!! They keep sending me numerous addressed promotional packages that look like invitations or Birthday cards, advising that I've been pre-approved for $15,000.00 and $7500.00, but paid no attention because their rates are RIDICULOUS!! And down the road I went to a furniture store, and decided to finance to spread out the initial cost, and the furniture store uses Fairstone as a financing company, and thought should be no problem because I keep getting SPAM saying I am approved way above that rate. So I applied for $1599.00 and I was denied, Fairstone said I don't meet the criteria??? This came as a shock, as I own, as in paid off a million dollar home with NO mortgage payments, I earn over $100,000.00 a year, and have been working and living at the same place and residence for 5+ years, PLUS I know my credit is excellent standing, as I am in process of upgrading my house and have been pre-approved for a loan of $500,000.00, Plus I have GOLD card credit card in good standing, and a personal line of credit?? So I felt compelled to see why? I called Fairstone and was hung up on. Something does NOT add up?? All they did is blemish my credit score by applying. FALSE ADVERTISING, BEWARE!!!!! I
