The staff at the Chop House Burger Bar were amazing! They took our hockey team of 40 at short notice, and brought on extra staff for our group. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and if I could give them a 10 I would! They were very friendly, food came out and our glasses were never empty. All the food that came out looked incredible, and tasted better than it looked! Great job!! When in St. Catherine’s we will be back!! Thank you from, The Bantam Creemore Valley Hawks Hockey Team
Good food!! Only complaint is I asked for a substitute Caesar salad for garden salad they didn’t tell me it was a 4 dollar up charge ... more then poutine !! Well if I had known that I would’ve got the poutine lol
Awesome! Cute decor, very reasonable, attentive service... and super delish! A new favourite !
Excellent food.... vegetarian, vegan and gluten free menus available...
Chop House is a neighborhood burger joint that is way better than a neighborhood burger joint. The menu has great selection, including lots of vegan and gluten free options. The portions for the food are extremely generous, and everything that I’ve tasted so far is great. The burgers especially have really well seasoned beef and are served on a fluffy bun. Most burgers and entrees come with two sides, which is an added plus. Considering all the specials they have going on, eating here goes way beyond the price.
Was really excited to go to this restaurant because of the gluten free menu, however, it is not suitable for anyone with celiac disease or who is really sensitive to gluten, as they do not have a separate fryer or prep space, so really, there is barely any selection. However, for those who are not restricted, the burgers are absolutely delicious as my party attested!. The restaurant could definitely use a bit of a pick-me-up in atmosphere, but if you're looking for a large, cheap, but still good quality burger meal, this is the spot.
So, Burgers. Many places do them well. Those guys do them to perfection. A simple and small place. Basic and homey service. Good beer collection. Very good appetizers. Great salad that is always so fresh that my half-vegetarian wife looks forward to joining us. But, most importantly... Out of this world burgers. The 50/50 is their signature, but everything is very very good on the menu. Even what they call "Value menu" is amazing, just a smaller patty. Which is not bad half the time. You can do takeout, but why would you?
Absolutely loved the food there! I had the Hally burger and the tacos. Very flavourful and prices were good. Only complaint was lack of waitstaff one waitress during dinner rush and they don’t have a drink menu! :
Agree with all other reviewers as far as the food is concerned. We've eaten there a few times and the burgers are tasty. Have found the service to be inconsistent. Eating in has been quite good. Cheerful, pleasant staff and the kitchen expedites food reasonably quickly. However, out experience with takeout was less than satisfactory. Our last order we placed at 6pm, being told it would be ready for 6:25. We arrived at 6:30 and had to wait until 7:00 - with no explanation provided or even a cursory apology had there been a mix-up. New customers were sat at tables while we waited, and their food arrived before ours. That was a bit frustrating. Customers like to be acknowledged. We understand nothing ever runs perfectly, but it almost felt like we were inconveniencing them with our patronage.
We recently had supper here, ordered a burger and a chicken club. Service was friendly, but food was average at best. Side soup appeared to be from a can. Gravy on poutine was packet and thin. Side salad and onion rings very good. Burger was greasy enough that there wasn’t much else to taste. Club had an odd unpleasant note to it that we could never place. Free and easy parking is a plus, decor is unusual. Won’t go back since there are so many other, better, burger joints in town.
