Chois Fish and Chips

It is the best restaurant among fish and chips I have ever eaten. First of all, clean oil is used, so it's fresh and the tempura is not thick. Handmade coleslaw, crispy potatoes and gravy are the best. They have been running a restaurant in the same place for 10 years. I strongly recommend it if you come to Barrie.Food: 5/5

Ordered fish and chips. The fries were cold and dry. Thankfully they skimped on the portions. The fish was ok but again dry and not even warm. Very disappointed. I’ll stick with Danny’s who are consistently good.

Overall its really good. The prices are a bit high but the quality of the fish and the nice light batter is a bonus. The fries are a bit dry. They have good variety for sides and deserts including Kawartha dairy ice cream and funnel cakes. They also offer delivery through Skip the Dishes.

Ordered takeout. Hubby had haddock and chips and I had a poutine. Sadly it wasn't that great. Chips tasted stale and the batter was greasy. Owners are really nice though. Food: 3/5

Great fish and chips! Fries are well cooked and fish is perfect. They offer burgers, poutine and healthy options as well! My favourite is the snack sized halibut and chips.

Awesome fish for a good price. Good poutine as well. With an interesting atmosphere.

Ordered in to eat at home. Arrived hot and was really good. A tad too greasy on the batter and and could have been better not so thickly battered but overall very good.

I would not recommend this place at all, the fish battered was thick and inside part was not cooked, the layer between fish and batter was just gross, dry frozen fries, tarter sauce taste like vinegar and mayonnaise and not homemade at all as described by worker… the place looked disgusting overall and I was so grossed out by everything that barely ate the food, will definitely not return and recommend you don’t either, just go to the halibut house that’s 3 minutes away, it’s better and much cleaner place.

Great prices and sizes for fish and chips. Service good. Place could use a little keep up. Not a fan of having everyone grabbing their own cutlery during covid-19. Self serve during these times has a whole new meaning. Friendly and quiet people. Fish batter is crispy and the fish stays moist and soft and flaky.
