Chippewa River Lodge Resort

Such a great escape from the norm! Very good place for family and friends!

Despite their website claiming that ""The Lodge" in Ojibwa, Wisconsin (near Hayward, Wisconsin), is a great place to plan family reunions, corporate outings, corporate meetings, wedding receptions, fishing trips, ATV and snowmobile outings and any event where lots of space and plenty of sleeping accommodations are needed." they refused to rent to us because our group is technically a bachelor party. We just wanted a place for a group of our size to play poker and fish but apparently I needed to lie to them and say it was a "fishing trip" in order to get them to take my money. I obviously can't speak to the quality of the lodge itself, but I can tell you that the ownership is dishonest and have caused our group quite a big inconvenience as we had based all plans on our staying in this area. What's the purpose of damage and cleaning deposits if you still jump to extreme conclusions just based on the type of event? They through a major wrench into our plans for no good reason. Why wouldn't they do the same to you?

Great place for family vacations. Have been going there for 10 years.
