This place is underrated. For fast-food Chinese, they are great! There should be a lineup out the door here at lunchtime, but with hardly anyone working in the nearby offices now, they are receiving as many customers as they used to. When you have a craving for Chinese food at lunch in this area, give them a try. My personal favourite is their Szechuan chicken. Lunch specials come with fried rice, but you can request steamed white rice instead if you prefer. You could also request noodles, might have a nominal charge for noodles. All made to order. The meals are packaged in plastic containers, which can be taken home and reused, free Tupperware. Prices are reasonable and a lunch special is more than enough for one person.
Absolutely, hands down the best food with amazing traditional over the top portions for a very reasonable price. The house Special Fried Fice, amazing The Chicken, amazing The House Special Chow Mein, amazing Honest and hard working family run business.
We have been ordering from China Star for years and always enjoyed it. Tonight, we were given the wrong noodles, the spring rolls had an odd flavour we didn’t recognize and we know that Szechuan shrimp is spicy but this was not edible by any of my family…. it went into the trash. Time to look for a new Chinese take out place.
Absolutely phenomenal food! We ordered the lemon chicken, beef with noodles, dumpling soup and chicken tso and it was so delicious! Nothing like I've ever eaten before, it wasn't heavy or full of grease like other Chinese takeout. We had multiple servings and couldn't get enough. Highly recommend!!!
Delicious, beautiful lunch, price beats all the Restaurants.Food: 5/5
The owners are nice and friendly, prices are reasonable but I wouldn't call this authentic Chinese food. Hot and sour was very bland, the sweet sour pork was mostly batter, I had to re season all the food. It always seems fairly busy maybe good for non Asian tastebuds?
They changed their chicken within the last couple weeks. I've gone here for years but I won't return unless they change it back. Tastes old and stale, and the sauce seemed poured on after instead of cooked on.
I liked this place. Food was fresh and good quality and it was cheap. Now the price went up three times its 9 bucks for lunch special now and the quality went down. I used to go here at least once a week, but I guess its time to stop.
I don’t know what happened to the food here, I’ve been getting takeout from here for at least 10 years. The chicken balls changed and they are gross, i fed them to the dog. The General Tao chicken is nothing like it was. I won’t be getting food here again.
I hadn't ordered from here in about 4 years, but decided to try it again and remembered why I stopped in the first place. The food is edible but not great. I had the General Tso chicken, sweet and sour pork, beef with broccoli, and egg rolls. The egg rolls were under seasoned and the flavors of the other dishes were just off. Obviously it's not authentic Chinese food, but I expected a little more from this place. I'm giving China Star a 2 because the service is fast and friendly and the store front is clean albeit minimalistic.
