The atmosphere when entering this restaurant is very welcoming and bright. The lifesize Budda joyfully greets you followed by a lobby with fresh orchids, bonsai trees and dragon statues. Elegant and tastefully decorated dining room ensue. The takeout service was exceptional and swift. Food was steaming hot and tasty. All the little extras in the box as well. Parking lot off of Main St. adjacent to entrance.
I'd give zero stars... Signs everywhere claiming best buffet in town, dine in, early bird discount. But when you enter you'll find no buffet. So I ask, why no buffet? She said, "I don't know." What? I suggested they changed the signs. She said,"There's one door." Tiny little decal that says, buffet re-open soon. Don't be fooled like I was! They're is no buffet! Why? I don't know!
I love this place mostly because they have the ginger beef I love the most. Can't get it anywhere but Alberta, normally, but I can get it here. That being said, very friendly staff, good at estimating times, packing our orders, and always with a smile. My wife absolutely loves their chow mein, ginger beef and sweet and sour pork... And they keep the place clean and well maintained. Thanks for the great work. Parking: Seems like ample parking, but we usually order our food in less busy hours on purpose. No issues during those times atleast.
We were so looking forward to Good Chinese food and we ordered some pretty basic dishes. I'm sad to say that all three of them were tasteless, boring and not very hot. I also ordered some hot and sour soup for the next day. It was definitely not hot and sour soup, perhaps wonton, and it also was tasteless and boring. Never again will I order from here. I was dining with some seniors in my neighbourhood, who are not particular at all, and neither of them enjoyed their meal either.
This place has gone to hell. I ordered from there recently and what I got was garbage. The food was old and the meat items were starting to spoil. Also the food was packed in such a way that when it arrived, the sauces were leaking all over the place. Never again unless ownership changes. Too bad. It used to be a good place to go. Parking: Spots available.
The worst Chinese take out ever. Couldn't even bite into the almond chicken - so hard, the breaded fried prawns were so doughy, the sauce for the s&s pork looked like blood- so much red food colouring, so unappetizing, also couldn't bite into. Nothing like the pics on website. Stay away.
Where's the beef!?!?! Ordered takeout. Typical North American Chinese food that is pretty average. Portions were sizable. One star review because I payed $10.95 for deep fried wontons that were realistically deep fried noodles. Only one wonton in the entire order had any beef in it, which is pictured. See for yourself! They're empty! Pathetic!!
I ordered Almond Gai Ding, Diced chicken & Veggies with almonds & the chicken in the dish was dry stringey precooked little stray pieces with diced celery, carrots & zucchini with a huge dump of whole almonds. We couldn't eat it. The Beef & Broccoli was same situation - precooked old roast stir fried with yellow tinged broccoli. Everything was so disappointing. To order a few dishes for delivery is $100 by the time the bags are leaking over my kitchen counter and the only one who enjoyed it was George.
I used to love their war won ton soup. But just picked some up, IT WAS HORRIBLE!! Broth was like water, chicken was so dry, couldn’t eat it! I will never ever go there again!!! Absolute WORST FOOD!!!!They have lost a very loyal customer!!!
BEST SMORG IN THE CITY! We've been there for the smorgasbord, as well as take out service. Never disappointed! Fast and efficient. Lots to choose from. So many great dishes. Quite expansive salad/dessert bar and ice cream section too. Very friendly service and very clean restaurant. The menu offers many unique dishes like Deluxe Wonton Soup with Prawns, Pork, Chicken and Vegetables, Crispy Ginger Prawns, Special Cantonese Chow Mein, Yummy Yummy Pork, Pineapple and BBQ Pork Fried Rice, and all your favorites too. If you love Chow Mein, they offer Cantonese, Singapore, and Shanghai style. There is an extra dining section off the main dining for special dinner parties. Dining booths and tables offer lots of room to eat comfortably. Very spacious, relaxed atmosphere. Open until 9 PM is a wonderful bonus for those who wish to dine into the evening hours. Cannot go wrong with this great restaurant.
