This place has amazing smoked meat sandwich. My wife was craving a meat sandwich while we’re in town one day. She found this cozy place when looking for restaurants around us and let me tell you guys, you must try their meat sandwich. We did not try anything else but I’ll sure be going back to this place again. Service was very quick and staff seemed friendly as we did the take out and ate in car.
Have been going to Chenoys in Dollard since 1977 when I was a little boy living in Chomedey with my parents, whenever I head back to Montreal for a visit the first place I head to is Chenoys for a real smoked meat sandwich, fries, Coca Cola, and a piece strawberry cheesecake for dessert with a big glass of milk. Always bring a few lbs of smoked meat, bagels, and a few loafs of rye bread back home.
If you are really hungry over midnight and dont know where to go , i suggest this place! They open till 3am , it has a nice environment, cozy , and the food is amazing , big portion also. I had TRIO MYKONOS , i usually change the chicken brochette to a chicken breast , also it coms with 2 lamb chops and smoke meat sandwich, coleslaw , one big pickle and a sauce for 30$ .. im satisfied
Old school diner with a classic menu and nostalgic appeal. Try both types of smoked meat, find your new favorite.
My daughter and her 29 friends went in last night. 30 paying customers on a quiet Friday night when there was only a handful of other customers in the restaurant. They were told that they have to each spend $20 minimum! I have never heard of such a shameful practice in a restaurant. Some of them got food that was uncooked, some never received their orders and were told they had to pay anyway. They were told the restaurant closes at 11 and they had to be out by 11. Their business hours clearly show that they are open later. This has been a tradition of going to Chenoy’s after their twice yearly theatre production at school for years. Never were they told they had to pay $20 Minimum before. This tradition that’s been going on for years …..It ended last night. You’ve just lost 30 customers and their friends and family and going forward they’ll easily find another restaurant to go to after their show. I’ll never go back to this restaurant, and will gladly tell people about your terrible attitude towards paying customers. Bye bye Chenoy’s
At first, I thought the portions were quite small for a 40$ trio but it ended being quite a meal and with a decent amount of leftover. The fries were a bit soggy, maybe due to it being delivered, and the wings were normal. The smoke meat was good, quite tender, but I would have prefered it more if the meat had more fat in it. The coleslaw was good and the bread was alright. My favourite part was definitely ribs. It was glazed with amazing flavours and the slightly charred exterior made the ribs so addictive. It complemented the tender meat so amazingly and it was quite delicious. On the other hand, I was quite disappointed in the Strawberry short cake. For one slice to be charging 9$, the cake was really underwhelming, The strawberry itself barely had any flavours and the texture of it was weird. The sponge cake itself was soggy and the texture was also a bit off. It wasn't an amazing dessert following the great ribs. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal for a reasonable price. I wish they had a better ratio of vegetables in their trio but thay is probably just me. Their menu offers such a wide selection of meals, it is a great place for a larger party as everyone can easily find something they enjoy.
A bit run down and needs a bit of cleaning. The staff seem to be hard working and the food is decent. Washrooms need some work only 1 out of 3 toilets work but they have reliably good smoked meat although the pickle and coleslaw were a bit dry, might have been out for a while.. It's still a nostalgic place to go especially during the holidays when most places are not open or not open very late.
Good food, affordable. Used to go often as I lived closer. Haven't been in a couple of years. Was happy to see they renovated, I didn't use the restroom, so I can't comment on them. As far as I know, it's the only twenty-four hour restaurant in the west island.
You would not believe the experience I had at this restaurant!! I recall it was a Thursday evening around a two moths ago and I walked into the restaurant and it was packed I was waiting in line for a while and it seemed like one person would get to the cash and then the next but the line kept getting longer and it was super weird By the time I made it to the counter I was greeted by a cleanly shaven man in a nice suit and he offered me alcohol which I thought was kind of weird because like... Isn't this a sandwich place?? Anyways I ordered a martini which he was able to prepare for me rather quickly and I complimented him on his service He asked me if I'd like anything else he kept calling me sir it was kind of nice but a bit weird and so I ordered the sandwich I originally came for He disappeared into the back for what felt like hours but eventually came out with the best looking sandwich I had ever seen!! He served it to me and told me to enjoy my meal and I was super excited to eat it... You could've told me this was a gourmet meal and I would've believed you Anyways I go to take a bite and suddenly the room goes completely dark which really freaked me out I look up from my sandwich to find that there's nobody behind the counter... I look around the restaurant to find that there's nobody in the restaurant either... Even the street outside is dead silent and there are no lights on at all When did it become night time?? Why can't I hear anything?? I check my phone to see that it was no longer Thursday evening but rather 3:47 AM on a Sunday How long had I been here?? Was there ever even a sandwich?? Was there ever anyone behind the counter?? I sat down at a table for two and cried until sunrise It's been months since this happened and I haven't seen another person yet... Not on the street or in malls or in their homes... It's as if I'm the only man left on earth Sometimes I occasionally return to Chenoy's hoping to find the ghastly bartender but I have had no luck so far If there's anyone out there who can read this please help me Please talk to me Please save me Please
My sister in law was in from Toronto, and was craving smoked meat. So where else to go! Took home the Super Deli special, smoked meat, potato salad, cole slaw and a loaf of rye bread! So good. They just can't find descent smoked meat in Toronto.
