1) Service: fine 2) atmosphere: quite good 3) food: very good The New York strip with lobster was very good. The steak had a salted crust and was done to perfection. Served with a peppercorn sauce, it was as I said; very good.The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were also good as well as the seasonal vegetables. Our waitress was fine. Not quite as good as some of her coworkers, but I wouldn't say bad. She absolutely did not impact our evening in a negative way. The hostess and all floor staff are very courteous and welcoming. The atmosphere is very relaxed with good lighting. Great for intimate dining or with a small group. Even the washroom facilities are fastidiously clean. Charcoal Steakhouse just does everything right. I would recommend, absolutely. There is a reason this restaurant has the reputation it does.

I visited this place twice in 2018, even though it's a half-hour drive from my home. The First time it was a wonderful and delicious experience.There were no complaints about food or service. I ordered my favourite french onion soup. It was very tasty. But we had to request paper napkins that weren't readily available. The Second time I was absolutely disappointed with this place. I ordered my beloved French Onion Soup again. It was terrible because it was completely over-salted! Upon our complaint, the manager stepped in and "solved" our problems: he just took our plates to the kitchen and when we got them back... it turned out we got (1) the SAME plates back, (2) the contents were merely diluted (most likely) water, and (3) the contents were barely warm. On top of all that, (4!!!) the soup was still as salted as before. The only positive moment was that manager said it's on the house, including our cocktails. (The paper napkins were not there again!) Unfortunately, I have no desire to go back.

Just had a fantastic meal here. The cheese bread appetizer should not be missed. I had the ribs with brown sugar sauce. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and absolutely delicious! My nephew had the steak fries rare and I was jealous. Perfectly done with a beautifully seared crust. The parmesan truffle fries were fought over. "Charcoal" deserves its place as the top restaurant in Kitchener on Google.

The food was great but it is the service that makes this restaurant five star. Likely the best steakhouse in KW. I was also the MOH in a wedding held here, and whether it be an event or a simple dinner out the management and staff go above and beyond to ensure a great experience.

Amazing service! My fiance and I both got the new York stirloin, which were very flavourful. Great wine list and it was nice to see the manager engaging guests throughout the night.
