I don't know about anyone else but my family's experience in the worse time of our lives was very appreciated. The nurses took such good care of my dad. They were friendly, understanding, caring to my mother and us. They made the worse situation in our lives a little easier. They were traveling nurses so they probably won't see this or hear any of this but thank you all of you for being the caring nurses you are.
I have lived in Plattsburgh for over 20 years now, my biggest regret is not researching the hospital at all before I moved here. It is hands down one of the worst run hospitals I have ever had to deal with. The nurses and staff are usually pretty nice but their CEOs and higher ups could use a little training on how to actually help people. Seems to me more attention is paid to money than on anything dealing with patients. I try to avoid this place at all costs and would recommend others to do the same. You will not get the care you actually need but will certainly get a giant bill for services you didn't receive. Wonder why it's so hard to attract and keep good medical staff in the North country...
My son went to the ER after having a motorcycle accident. The nurses at the triage desk told them they don't accept motorcycle insurance. Since when do nurses become the billing department? I think he has a broken forearm, a dislocated shoulder and he has a cut that needs sutures. It's hard enough to get him to go to the hospital. I now see why. This hospital is absolutely disgusting in the treatment of the people who go there for help. So much for the Hippocratic Oath. It's just a money game. I've said it before and I will say it again...this hospital sucks.
Went old that I could stay the night with my boyfriend being the only person that he had in the hospital I was asked to leave when visiting hours were done. My boyfriend was admitted for having a heart attack and having to have emergency cardiac surgery to have a stent put in. He has very high anxiety and when they told me I had to leave that kind of put him over the edge he got very clammy very agitated I was told that he might have to be sedated. I think the higher-ups at cvph really need to be re-evaluated they're traveling nurses care more about their patients than the actual doctors do
Be warned, please think twice before uprooting yourself, committing and accepting a travel nurse assignment at this hospital! I'm a traveling nurse, I've been committed to this assignment since Nov 2022. After 12hrs of orientation and 41 computer modules later, which takes another 10-14hrs to complete, we where let go, told our contracts were cancelled with a smile. CVPH decided they no longer needed M/S nurses, but instead needed M/S Tele nurses. This has been the worst traveling experience for me in 4 years! All that effort and time, all that testing etc. You know I was required to buy a specific N95 mask from Amazon just to take CVPH's fit test! Also another blow, I'm still in Plattsburgh NY and this company placed an ad hiring more M/S nurses and didn't bother asking us, the cancelled nurses if we'd like an opportunity to work. They could've renegotiated our contracts easily. We've invested time and money ourselves coming here. It doesn't make any sense, but a lot of money and time wasted and CVPH is not concerned at all about the inconvenience they've caused us. Given my 10yrs of nursing experience, I must say I was also rather surprised when they opted to keep the nurse with one year of nursing experience on the M/S Tele unit....We felt like age could've also been a factor here, considering the older & experienced nurses had to hit the road.
Went to ER with extreme abdominal pain. Received Motrin. ER was the most filthy place I had ever been in. The state should shut it down. If you need a hospital and are not dying, go to St Albans Vermont.
I had never been in the hospital since the day I was born in 1958. I was admitted with critical pneumonia.I was on R5,I can't say enough about the fabulous care I received from Carmen,Tracy,Elma and the rest of the staff.Truly my angels. They were so kind, compassionate and caring that I was no longer afraid.I owe them a debt I can never repay Just wonderful people. Thank u a million times Tresah Bousquet
My recent dealings with cvph have been excellent. The appointments were on time, and nurses/doctors/staff took their time to explain things to me.
Staff should stand up against these ridiculous NY state rules making visitors feel so unwelcome. Had to split up our family two by two to see a sick loved one and threatened to be kicked out if we were more than two. Going to this hospital is the worst. Enforcing rules that don’t make sense make you part of the problem.
the waiting room had puke bags & blankets all over. sink didn’t work. and no hand sanitizer in sight. had a 17 year old with chest pains waiting for hours.
