This little museum is definitely worth a visit. It covers the history and heritage of the naval presence on Canada's West Coast and of the military on Southern Vancouver Island. The museum traces the ups – and downs – of the Canadian Navy with a series of exhibits, from the Navy's formation in 1910, through the turbulence of two World Wars, the conflict in Korea, and beyond. The museum itself is housed in a heritage building at the Naden Naval Base in Esquimalt and a visit also gives you a chance to see some of this historic Royal Canadian Naval Base up close.

I work in the area and have always wanted to check out the museum. Learned a few things and the kids enjoyed the displays as well as the real life ships in the harbour nearby.
