I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews....I personally can't say enough good things about this hospital. My brother has been here for a few days 4th floor and I have visited him twice so far. Both day.... Dr., Nurses, etc...one right after another has been extremely caring. He was there Christmas Eve and Christmas day who really wants to work this days. The staff just acted like it was any another day with no complaining and great care. The rooms where amazing and clean. Keep up the great work!
The wife and I really like these facilities. It's worth the drive to avoid travelling to downtown Chicago. The facilities are soothing and today I just had to take a few photos. I hope you enjoy them. BTW: our visit was for an appointment for an annual exam and both of us were pleased with the service. The staff are diligent with practicing CDC guidelines for COVID-19 in a effort to keep everyone safe. One word of advice: Make sure you give yourself enough time to find a parking space. Expect to spend at least 15 minutes looking. Just saying.
Sad excuse for an ER. Super annoying seeing the front desk chick wear a mask under her nose while reminding patients to put theirs on correctly… Waited 5 hours after triage just to be seen by an idiot nurse who couldn’t even draw blood without bruising and making my mother have tears in her eyes. Instantly told him to get out and find another nurse who is confident they can do their job correctly. New nurse came in and she found the veins quick and easy! Thomas RN had zero bed side manners and the room was a hot mess. As a healthcare provider, it was evident that this hospital is understaffed and the rooms were barely being sanitized. Previous patients info on the white board, used heat pack on the floor, medi trace patches on the bed frame, NO clean blankets and we all know the temperature of the rooms are COLD gloves everywhere and an open sharps container with steri pouches/needle caps on the counter!! Dr. Soumya was knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. Let’s just say, we could not run out of there quick enough and will not be returning again.
If I could give 10 stars to Central DuPage NW Emergency Room staff I would! I came in with infected chemo port catheter, from the moment I walked in I was greeted with care and compassion, and was in a room talking to a doctor within 30 minutes. Everyone that came by has great bedside manner, was caring and did what they needed to do with ease and very smoothly. I felt safe and cared for. I understand the frustration of waiting a long time in an ER to be seen but they do have to prioritize the patients by severity of each case. THANK YOU NW ER team!!! My RN Sean, you are amazing!!!!
I have very little experience in medical facilities. This hospital saved my life. The Neuro department is exceptional. I understand coming in with a burst aneurysm in my brain is a real challenge.I did my best to go limp and comply, The doctor, name starts with an M has a Z in it, did a phenomenal job. The support staff was wonderful. I would call out 3 nurses or maybe PCT staff who made me feel safe and human. Della, Shannon, and Logan made me feel like more than a slab of meat. And the lady who came around and called me out for preferring cold soup from the can over what I could get from “room service.” She fixed that quickly. I asked thousands of questions, and everyone did their best to answer. Bless you all for all that you did for me.
I had an injury with my knee where the pain was so excruciating that I needed to be transported to the hospital. There was one individual in particular that really stood out to me. His name was Chris, and I really like the guy. He got my jokes, I got his, and all that time he had the professional performance and discipline to carry out his tasks. The whole time he was transporting me he kept my mind off my injury and encouraged me to think positively and not be afraid of what's to come afterwards. He really had taken good care of me going to and from the tests. Overall I think that it's people like him that made my stay at the hospital great. He was truly an inspiration to me.
This hospitals ER is one of the worst I have ever been to and I have been to places from Chicago to multiple suburbs. They do not care about you AT ALL. My mom was forced to go there often since it was close. i have SO many complaints against them but yesterday was one of the worst. We waited 6 HOURS in the waiting room and had to leave because they told us my mom was not sick enough to been seen basically. They said she will be continually knocked down on the waiting list because she was stable. She has congestive heart failure and couldn't breathe with chest pains. They took her blood and EKG but refused to release the results to either me OR MY MOM who is the patient. Which is ILLEGAL by the way. At no point did anyone come out to tell us what was going on and we were very patient only asking twice the whole time we were there because we knew they were busy. Horrible Horrible place, if you can drive to ANYWHERE else. Hate this ER!
I want to sing praises for the folks that build and support the MyChart medical system and device app. I like things simple and that’s how it is with the NM system of hospitals. I just wish they had more facilities farther south of Chicagoland. It has been a rough 3 days for me so far. Just had my 2nd COVID-19 vaccine and I was, and still feeling, horribly sick. Fever, chills, achy joints, no appetite for 3 days and other complications that I won’t mention and not spoil your dinner. My review is my personal experience for the coordination between the staff of all locations within the system. My PCP is downtown Chicago. Because of an urgent situation, the staff in Chicago suggested I find a site close to home. I chose the Wheaton office. Made an appointment online; meet with front desk person who was very kind and friendly. I was seen right away by a really nice person, Dr Horn. She was patient, listened, asked questions and setup a CT scan at nearby Central DuPage Hospital, off Winfield Rd. About a 10 minute drive. Same front desk experience. I was totally tired of filling out forms. But they said no problem: I could do all that with the technician. Got thru that easily. Peter, the CT technician, was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Really. We had a good chat, which I feel helped him to focus on what needed to be looked at. It was not just a rush in and rush you out. The entire test was less that 10 minutes. Later I was able to speak with the Dr at Wheaton and she even order a CD for me to take back to my regular Dr. And I was given a printout of the test results. Super. I just want to say something about a coordinated system. If you struggle with making appointments or keeping up with all your vaccinations and have doctors that have no system or use one that is antiquated it can be very frustrating. Slowly I’m working towards having all my care under one system. Less paperwork, less wasted time, less stress. BTW: ample parking at both locations and it won’t cost you a penny.
the staff was VERY rude and didn’t understand absolutely anything. they did things wrong such as put on the blood pressure cuff wrong and other things. i have never been to such a bad hospital in my life, the staff was very disrespectful and i feel like as a nurse you shouldn’t get mad at a patient for asking why things are taking so long and you shouldn’t get mad at the patient for asking for something to help with the pain. the staff took forever to come back and only checked on us hourly and even when we called for help they took forever to get to the room.
