Cecil Fireside Inn

I stayed here for the second time the last weekend in September. Dorcas, the owner is very nice. We stayed in the Little Fireside which is a building outside with 8 really small rooms. Outdated but very clean and serve the purpose. If you’re not used to well water, bring bottled water to brush your teeth and wash your face. Thankfully, I didn’t have to take a shower while there as I was able to at a nearby relatives house. The pool and hot tub were closed. That didn’t bother me because I wasn’t there for that. The pool and hot tub had issues the last time we stayed here too.

Clean rooms and good service. We stayed here when the pool was down, so definitely a bummer, but the staff was friendly. We will stay again if we are ever in need on this area. Thank you!Rooms: 3/5

Not handicap accessible AT ALL. My family booked 3 rooms and I left to go to another hotel. Beds are low, floors are so uneven, pool wasn't able to be used, hot tub was down for a day. Steps to enter the room from outside were slanted. A walker barely made it through the doors. And the people at the desk were watching your every move. I explained when I reserved the room I needed handicap accessible HIGH BEDS, AND HIGHER TOILET. Never will I recommend or go back.

This place is awesome. Came here with my family. This is hospitality at its finest. The manager made sure we had everything we needed plus more. We will definitely come again. Pool was just the right temperature and so was the hot tub.Rooms: 4/5

The town doesn't have much to offer for me. But the people who run this place will be what makes me come and stay here again. I come to ride the trails. This place is not super close to the dirt trails. But because of management I am willing to travel a bit further later. LOVE these guysRooms: 5/5

Great little Motel. Stayed the weekend for a wedding. Very friendly front desk lady. The room was very clean and spacious, very retro looking. Only issues with the place is for some reason the water stunk and the toilet looks like it was made for a 4 year old.Rooms: 5/5

This is by far my favorite place to stay in the Shawano area. Management is top notch, friendly and organized. The rooms are always clean, and the pool area is fun and relaxing.Rooms: 5/5

Do not waste your money on staying here if you have kids or plan on enjoying yourself. We were supposed to stay there for Easter weekend with our family. 8 rooms and almost 30 people we were there less than an hour and the man and woman running it were extremely rude and had a list of rules that were unreal! 4 people in the hot tub 10 in the pool just to name one of them. We were there less than two hours and got yelled at 4 times for petty things and we packed up and ended up eating our deposits and went into Green Bay where we actually enjoyed our weekend. It’s a great place to stay if you like a 1970s feel because that was obviously the last time anything was updated there and you like feeling like your under a microscope because the two managers-owners were glued to the windows watching for anything they could to come out and yell about. Don’t waste your time or money with this dump, make the trip into shawano or Green Bay if you want to enjoy yourself. They also kept both nights of our deposits even tho they had 24 hours notice of the second night and refused to give back a deposit for one of the rooms that we had to cancel a week prior to our planned stay because someone backed out. On top of them keeping the deposit it says right in there policy that it’s $25 a night for deposit and they charge us $35 a night per room per night. Everything about this place was very uncomfortable, unorganized, unprofessional, and extremely rude! Wish we woulda read a few of the other reviews before we wasted our time and money.

For the second year in a row, the pool floor and walls were green. All rooms now have extremely low toilets. For two days, I had no hot water in my room. There were no tables or chairs set up on the back dining patio. The people who run the place now, are full of excuses, but refuse to fix anything. The place is falling apart and is an embarrassment to the area. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

Rude Managment. Planned on spending Easter weekend planned with family and friends including many young kids and we were told you rent the room and the pool area is not part of your stay ‍ Many in affective rules due to Covid for the pool area in my opinion so we lost our deposit on 7 rooms and went to a motel in Green Bay and had a blast!!! The place must be paid for because it sure didn’t seem like they wanted our business
