Absolutely beautiful there it was really nice going for the weekend the only thing is make sure you have lots of bug spray I got eaten alive lol
Beautiful campground with great views of the St. Clair River. Nice and quiet, no issue with mosquitoes. The only complaint I have is the washrooms where the municipality could spend some money on updating. For a beautiful campground like this you expect better facilities
Spent the weekend. Even with the rain on Friday night/Saturday morning we had a great weekend. Nice clean and beautiful park. We had a great view of the St. Clair river. Definitely worth the travel!!
Very quiet campground with beautiful views of the St Clair River. One thing campers registering should be aware of. The office/store closes at 4 o'clock not sure if hours may change in summer months so you must have reservations if arriving after 4. If the store is closed upon arrival you pull into your campsite and than register the next day. The hours and how to register was not explained to us when making reservations. The store/office hours are not posted at the campground. Also our campsite was a 50 amp site and we were told when booking that there were 30 to 50 amp adapters available at the office to borrow, however when arriving on a Friday night after work found the office closed and had to hurry to unhook and get to a store to purchase one. I had called the office and left voicemail with my cell phone number and asked for the staff to call when the office opened the next day however my call was not returned. This all could have been avoided if there was proper communication from the staff when booking. Other than the confusion upon arrival we had a very enjoyable stay.
Quiet. Peaceful. Not activity oriented. Just camping out. Nice clean shower/ bathroom. Polite staff. Watch shore birds.
Older municipal campground but nice. Full services but bring 50' of water hose and 30 amp electrical cable as the taps and outlets are really spread out on some sites.
I love it there and being right by the water was a plus. Enjoyed the birds.
Great place to tent camp. Quiet except for a factory or plant that runs 24/7 across the river but not bad enough to keep you up at night. Tent sites are actually given sought after location close to the rivers edge and bathrooms/showers. Beautiful scenery !!! Huge tent sites. Fire pit on each. Laid back Friendly staff and groundskeepers. Only issues were restrooms were dated from probably early 70s but were reasonably clean as far as a campground bathrooms goes. Dont expect hotel ambiance . Bring mosquito repellent and you’ll be ok. No store for items so think before you leave home and pack well. And their website to book a site online is fraught with issues, at least for me, so you’re better to just call. They usually don’t answer but leave message and they will get back to you by the next day. All in all it’s a place that I will definitely visit again for sure. Happy Camping!
Very nice campground along the St Clair River. We stopped in to check it out while biking the trail, which is at the front gate. We plan on camping here. Seems quiet, facilities are clean, nice washrooms and staff friendly.
