Carp Fair is always a good time. I grew up in Carp so perhaps I am a but bias but I do think this is consistently the biggest and best fair around. Great for all ages, accessible, always growing and working to include more of the population, ever-changing entertainment, stress-free parking, and affordable admission!
Carp Car Bingo is a fantastic, fun night out! $15/person, canteen snacks including hamburgers and hot dogs!! and a really lighthearted, family friendly event. Runs every Wednesday in July starting at 7pm. Get there early, bring your camping chair, your dabbers, your friends and cash. 10/10 will go again!
It was a gorgeous day to be at the fair this year. The parking area was well organized and clean. They had a tractor and wagon with benches that was able to shuttle people around if you happened to be parked on the far side of the field. You had to make your way to the front of the field where you could either take the bus up to the fair or make the 10 minute walk. The walk is up hill to the fair but a nice down hill jaunt on the way back. We went mostly for the rides for the kids. They had a nice selection of rides and games and even though the lines were long they moved along fairly quickly but herein lies the dilemma. The lines moved quick because the rides were very short. No all day pass was available so each ride was pay as you go. It was very easy to rack up a huge bill just on the rides. Over all the kids had fun so I was a good day but I am a little disappointed buy how the rides operated. We will most likely return next year nonetheless.
Great time with the kiddos. The free shuttle service from the parking area was a lifesaver!
Thank you so much for this fantastic event! We enjoyed this upside-down Santa Parade! Really thank you for the all people who prepared and standing in the pouring rains tonight. I have visited here a couple of times for the farmer’s market this year and I will visit again next year, too. It was such a great event especially for my kids so I would like to say “Thank you” here.
Kids always love it. The highlights for 12-14 yr olds are the petting zoo, the super dogs show, and the less scary rides.. I'd go with ferris wheel, and things that spin but only on one level ie not both vertically and horizontally. Food is ok but I wish there was more to try.. might be a good place to combine a ribfest with. Carp is always beautiful so its worth the trip. The hardest part is parking.. the suburbs around it for half a km are usually No Parking.. so expect a walk unless you go to the park and ride and shuttle in. Haven't tried that but it's probably a good idea.. they seem to run regularly.
Always a great time at the carp fair, only reason for not 5 stars is the carnival that comes in, the rides a RIDICULOUSLY short. Like 2 revolutions on the carousel? Otherwise lots of food vendors, beautiful animals and they always put on a show! Great time for families. Bring cash
The toilets were full level to the seats. I'm not exaggerating. The hand washing stations had no water. The rides were extremely short in length for the 3 tickets @ $40 for 26. Not family friendly. Also expensive to get in considering what was offered. Better for 19+ because you could drink and take in the evening music. I'll never bring my children again.
It was excellent this year. Well laid out, good variety of food, rides and exhibits. The ride ticket booth could have been closer to the front entrance but otherwise all was good. The shuttle looked well organized.
Best fair around Ottawa. 5+ for people organizing it! It's not a typical 2-3 days fair with only attractions. So many different things to see and to learn! Woodworking, animals, farmers, tractors, antiques, BBQ, BBQ ,BBQ, ride shows, attractions and RODEO! Beware that the place is very popular. Come in the morning or on a business day. Crowds of people on weekends but parking/shuttle are very nicely organized.
