Been here a couple times for lunch/dinner. First time this past weekend for breakfast. Got there at 9am and the place was SLAMMED the entire time we were there. Although we were still seated almost immediately, I'd confidently say this place is worth the wait. Food was excellent, portions were reasonable, service was top notch. We even had a person in our group who has Celiacs so has to be VERY strict. Both the gal who seated us - who seemed to be a manager - and our server were very patient and accommodating. And the sweet cream caramel rolls?? Massive and mouth watering. This is a must have, but get there early as these don't last forever! Definitely recommend Carol's, certainly for breakfast, probably for lunch and dinner as well don't remember these experiences.
The service was a bit slow as they were short staffed. However, the food was delicious and the portions were filling. The atmosphere is light and the restaurant is clean and comfortable. The deserts are their specialty and do not disappoint. I personally recommend the pies.
Delicious local breakfast with unique food! Jam and syrup were homemade. Absolutely delicious. We knew when we went that the 30 minute wait meant the food was going to be delicious
My family and I really enjoyed our dining experience at Carol's. We were quickly greeted upon entering and had an excellent, friendly server. The menu had something for everyone in our group. The menu is full of home-style/diner foods that are all homemade. I had the Monte Cristo. Others at our table tried the MN Hot Commercial, Asian Chicken Salad, BLT, and kids corndog. Everyone was very happy with the taste of their meals & the portions of their plates. We'll be going back!
Nice little restaurant and gift shop in the upper end of town. Pristine neat, orderly, and welcoming. It has nice personal decor touches like Valances in the windows, and Tiffany- look lampshades all colorful and quietly elegant. The menus reminded you of diners gone by a single page of treats. My friend who is a regular suggested the senior sized Eggs Benedict with hash browns. It was just the right portion size. I was so hungry and so side tracked that I didn't even take pictures.
Great taste and very good quantity for the price. Ordered carrot cake for dessert, it was simply amazing. Ordered two main entrees and one desert for two people, but we couldn’t finish them all
If you like a delicious hot meal just like mom or grandma makes this is the place for you. Had to try their hot turkey sandwich with all the trimmings and was great. Sliced natural turkey in between two slices of bread smothered with tasty homemade gravy plus mashed potatoes and real stuffing made it a tremendous lunch. Throw in a small cup of cranberry relish and had me thinking of Thanksgiving in October! My guest enjoyed her BLT with cup of fresh fruit which she said was excellent as well. Had to take home one of their desserts, a pumpkin torte covered with a mixture of whipped cream and creme cheese which weighed about a pound. Was so large will consume this over a 2-3 day period. Great service from our waitress Lindsey made it an enjoyable afternoon. Seen many reviews about Carol's and our visit certainly didn't disappoint.
Deep fried cheese curds and walleye were delicious. Big walleye filet, lightly beer battered served with potatoes, cabbage and carrots. The roll was made with beer and walnuts, very good!
Absolutely love this place! The food has been so good every time I've gone.
Bring in the New Year Eve with a family Reflection Breakfast! Thank you Carol's for the amazing service.. We arrived at the cut-off time for breakfast, and the accommodation was simply amazing. Our party of 8 ordered the following, 1 kids pancake breakfast, a side of eggs and bacon for a picky eater, 2- Cornbeef hash pictured, 2- spinach omelets, pancake Breakfast with sausage and an American potatoes Breakfast with pancakes. Our bill came to $119. There is a surcharge for all credit cards used. Which brought our bill to $123. The atmosphere was perfect and the food was so good! This is the first time I have brought my entire family to Carol's, and we can not wait to come back..
