Lovely little cafe that roasts their own beans. The cappuccino was a little big, so maybe it's not perfect for the purists, but 95% of people won't even notice. Milk texture was perfect and espresso has a nice balance. Their breakfast croissant was good as well and baked in-house.
I have visited this cafe for 3 times, as I am diversity seeker, I order different things each time. I can say Matcha latte was great. Espresso, Pour over and Americano, all were quite good. Muffins were ok, their biscuit cookie specially green tea flavor are great options if you wanna have a light snack with your coffee. Atmosphere/vibe is calm and cool. It is a clean place and staffs are polite and well-behaved. One of them have a good knowledge about coffee & its verities. I always had a good time there.
This place is quite a cozy cafe. For a new place, the ambient is very comfortable and the music is subtly hype. The staff are nice too. They seem to be very friendly. The menu is not the cheapest, but again they aren't industrially processed like fast food joints. They even have drip coffee and pour over coffee with a daily "coffee of the day" special. Caritas is a nice place to study or get work done. You won't get kicked out even if you stayed half the day.
One of the the best mocha and lattes in town. This place is a hidden gem. Their barista is remarkably good at crafting perfection, mocha tastes like chocolate silk with coffee.
This humble place is a great gem in a quiet neighborhood of Burnaby. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about coffees and hot beverages. Pour-overs are highly recommended, because of the outstanding aroma and flavor, although I would like to see more dark roast choice as well. The ambience is great, with a nice decor, good music and free wifi.
The relaxed ambiance of Caritas 9 is exactly what you need. If you need a nice quiet afternoon to relax, work, or even just enjoy a cup of coffee; this is the place to go. Caritas is a spacious coffee joint with a good selection of soft music. The sizes of the coffee are mostly one size and sometimes too small. They have quite a nice but limited selection. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. It is a very clean place. I just wish it was open for longer hours. My husband and I enjoy coming here on weekend afternoons. They have a nice selection of puzzles, which we enjoy doing while sipping on a latte or nibbling on a scone.
Not as good as the previous owner. Probably a work in progress so it's ok to have some learning curve. I've been there a few times now and I think they're slowly improving. The cappuccino is the foamy style, not with latte art. The taste is better than Starbucks but not on par with other 3rd wave coffee shops. Good that they have a choice of espresso beans so you can go for a medium roast which is the only reason I go there. Their baristas are somewhat friendly but I don't feel they're coffee enthusiasts themselves. They seem to know just as much about coffee as a Starbucks barista. The worst part however is that their washroom is locked, and there's no key, and you have to talk to a barista to open the door for you, every, single, time. Not only is that an inconvenience, it also doesn't feel super hygienic.
Come to this nice coffee place for an crossover event with efnbe bakehouse. Tried their Piccolo coffee, it was quiet strong for my taste, but it was good. I don't see this kind of drinks anywhere else.
Non descript from the outside, but surprisingly nice on the inside. Spacious and bright interior, with tasteful study room like decor. Not too many tables though.
Wanted to get a croissant from a nice coffee shop. This cafe had them but I paid $8 for two croissants that I could have gotten in a bulk pack from the grocery store for way less money. Usually for that price you can get a fancy, delicious pastry. Sadly not from here. The barista also seemed less than enthusiastic about her job, which made the sad pastries even more depressing. Didn’t try their coffee but won’t be going back for a second chance.
