Out of all bubble tea places that I have gone to, and tried out Macao Imperial Tea is my favourite and my go to, to satisfy my cravings It’s just something about their bubble tea that is so refreshing and i’ve never had that “feeling” before about milk tea Macao hits that spot! I have tried many drinks here, because my cravings are always different at times. Just gonna list down some because it would take me a while Just wanted to share on here my favourite drinks Caramel Mpresso: a blended coffee slush with caramel drizzle around the cup topped with whip cream and a caramel drizzle on top perfect amount of sweetness and is such a perfect Caramel like frappe Blue Curacao: a Blue fizzy Virgin like cocktail Taro Cheesecake Pearl Milk Tea: like who doesn’t love a taro x cheesecake combo?! This is not too sweet and hits the spot Oreo Cheesecake Pearl MilkTea: For you Oreo and cheesecake lovers this is a perfect drink for you! just love when i’m drinking it the cheesecake gives a “creamy” vibe and the bits of Oreo in my mouth just melt perfect amount of sweetness White Mocha Mpresso: is a white chocolate and coffee blended drink and it’s bomb Star Taro Slush: Might I say, out of all taro bubble tea’s I have had. This one takes a place in my heart Halo halo MilkTea : Halo Halo is a popular shaved ice dessert from the Philippines and has all of the toppings in milk tea form try it for yourself you’ll be mind blown When you’re here you should also try the Ube Mamon: it’s very fluffy, and light and is the best Mamon I have ever had! Surprisingly not too sweet Service:is fast and friendly Location:is perfect, has convenience stores near by, near restaurants, and Buy Low Foods across from it Great place to hang out and grab a drink and sit down with your friends Has a cute bench with two big teddy bears to take pictures for that “Instagram esthetic” The managers are amazing Thank you Macao Imperial Tea for always bringing a smile on my face when i’m feeling down, and for the consistency, and bringing joy to others Keep up with the amazing work!
Macao Imperial Tea had just opened up on Edmonds St.and I was itching to try it, so I brought my daughter with me to go check it out. Upon entering the shop you are met with two gigantic teddy bears sitting on chairs. They seem to like their teddy bears in this shop because two of the drinks on their menu are served in reusable glass bottles with lids that are shaped like teddy bear ears. One of these drinks is called “For Me” and the other drink is called “For You”. My daughter decided to try the “For Me” while I chose the Black Sugar Taho Milk Tea for myself. For Me: It turned out to be a coffee drink. Think of it as a cold, sweet latte. My girl loved it and so did her daddy when he came home. Since the "For Me" drink comes in one of those reusable glass teddy bear bottles, I inquired about whether we could come back sometime and reuse that same bottle. The girl I asked wasn't sure so she consulted with another employee. She then reported back to me that we could reuse the bottle; the drink would cost the same. There would be no discount for bringing in a reusable container. That's fine with me. I'm just happy to come to a shop that allows reusable containers. I'm so tired of single use plastic. Black Sugar Taho Milk Tea: I'm no expert on Taho or Filipino foods in general. Taho is something I've only ever had at one other shop. Based on my limited experience with Taho, I have to say I really couldn't taste any Taho in this drink. It was a flavorful drink and we enjoyed every last drop. I'd have no troubles ordering it again. I just don't think the word "Taho" should be in the name as I really couldn't detect any Taho in it. It just tasted like a Black Sugar Milk Tea to me. Service: Very good. Friendly and helpful. Parking: Parking on Edmonds St. directly in front of the shop is limited; however, if you just take a short walk around the corner there's plenty of free parking on the side street. Linden Ave. Location: In a great neighbourhood. Buy-Low Foods supermarket is across the street, Save-On Foods is only about a couple of blocks away around the corner, Tommy Douglas Library is also around the corner,Edmonds Community Centre is closeby on the same street, lots of other shops and restaurants nearby. It's a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood.
I love the vibe of the place, not to mention the drinks are awesome. My kids love it. We drove 40mins just to come here.
3 stars for tastiness of the drink and value. -2 stars for service. I was looking at the menu and trying to find a drink I wanted with some caffeine but no milk. I asked if the black pearl purple taro had dairy because some bubble tea places use dairy free creamer powder or have dairy free alternatives.. I was told it does have milk powder. So I mentioned was looking for an option with caffeine and no dairy and the response I got was, "well, this is a milk tea place" as if I were stupid to ask such a question. That wasn't helpful at all. With a bit more time I decided on a fruit tea which did not have any dairy, and he could have easily recommended it to me instead of making a rude and unnecessary comment. I might give it some time before I decide to try it again, but would say the flavours of the drinks I got were good and the lady working at the back was nice.
If you’re in a hurry, don’t go here. Considering there were 4-5 staff behind the counter and just one group of three in front of us, our three drinks shouldn’t have taken 20-25 minutes to make. It looked like most of the staff were either new or never bothered to memorize the recipes because everyone hovers around the recipes posted on the wall and stares at it while holding empty or half empty cups. It would really help if management required staff to come prepared… The drinks were good… but not a 25 min wait good.
Oh my! Black sugar taro bubble tea is so good! This place checks off so many things-yummy tea, atmosphere, friendly service. You guys will see me again! P.s. thumbs up for the cup lid choice. Finally no bubble tea spills :
Bbt here is awesome. Great spot with lots of comfy seating.Recommended dishesOreo
This is our second time coming here the first time during their soft opening. Ok drinks, but it took 24 minutes to get 4 of ours and there was only one couple ahead of us. During the soft opening it took 20 minutes for two drinks but we had attributed that to them still figuring out their process. Drinks seemed to be coming out in random order, and thats pretty frustrating.
It's pretty and all but the drinks we got were not worth the whopping $7 each. There were a lot of blending sounds going on in the establishment but my Over The Rainbow Slush had giant chunks of ice, which made it hard to enjoy it, I'd rather just get a slush from 7/11. As for the Lemonade Yakult, it was just lemonade with barely a hint of Yakult. Lastly, it took a very long time, which honestly would have been if the drinks were even slightly good. There's a bunch of cheaper and better bubble tea places in this area, I'd suggest any of those
Super cute tea house with a really chill vibe, was quiet, we ordered three drinks and all were very good.Food: 5/5
