Captain Shawarma

Wanted Donairs and we were near WEM. Looked up some reviews in the area and this place seemed like it had some recent visits with good reviews. Parking was easy as it's right on the corner. Nice windows out front and bright interior. Staff was busy making orders and they all seemed in a great mood. We ordered four meals; I had the large Shawarma Donair, my sister and BIL each got a large Donair while my niece picked the chicken fingers and fries. Server was amazing, she was quick and made sure she got everything right. Just my order had no tomatoes and they got it right. Was cool to watch them at work and I love the electric knife they used to trim the Donair meat. Big TV on the far wall played some great scenes from the Maldives and got us in a dreamy mood. Once the food was done, they brought it right to our table and with a smile. The food was hot and delicious! Serving sizes were generous. We four all loved our meals and I will happily return.

WOW! I just ordered the falafel platter and everything was SO delicious. From the rice, potatoes, taboleh salad and falafel were freshly made. The photo shows only 5 falafels because I couldn't help myself and ate one the moment I got home. The smell is delicious!! I think this might be the best donair/falafel place in Edmonton! Definitely a regular customer.

Ordered to go, food is great tasting and good price. Found a staple in shawarma donair platter. It was in the donair meat. First time it happened out of more than 5 orders.

Site was nice and clean. Bathroom door was hard to open and close. For some reason they put fries in your wrap which is odd. I didn't think it added anything to it. My shawarma barely had any sauce in it so it was quite dry but my partners had a lot and was dripping. Garlic potatoes are garlic seasoned and don't come with garlic sauce. The garlic seasoning isn't very strong and the potatoes were meh. I'd get them again but I'd ask for garlic sauce on top.

Tried the mixed beef donair and chicken shawarma wrap and the chicken shawarma wrap, both were delicious. Portion size and price was reasonable. Restaurant was clean and staff friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Prices are fair, portions are big, service is friendly. The falafel wrap was really good. My friend got the chicken shawarma donair and enjoyed it. Fries were nicely seasoned. Clean restaurant as well!

Wow, great shawarma and donairs! Came here just to try it out but now its going to be added as one of the places i need to stop by everytime i head to west edmonton! Portions were also huge! I got a regular and there was layers and layers of meat

After waiting patiently for months to try Captain Shawarma, I was not disappointed. I had the Regular Cheese Donair with Baklava for dessert. The meat on the Donair was crispy, the veggies were fresh and the sauce was creamy and delicious. The interior of the restaurant is also very clean and modern. The owners were friendly and polite. I can't wait to go back and try one of the the tasty-looking platters!

Went in for a shawarma, pretty odd that they don't have a meal version on the ready but it isn't too big of an issue. Shawarma was great, affordable, densely packed and worth every dollar. Staff were friendly. Probably gonna come back again some time.Food: 5/5

Edit: I would give this a 3.75 if that was an option as it’s not my favourite donairs but I appreciate them existing over here, I haven’t tried all their dishes, and I want them to succeed. Went in and received very good service. They have an extensive and quite innovative menu. I found the portions are very generous. Tried the beef donair with the garlic sauce and it was good and the chicken shawarma with tzatziki. There are fries in the shawarma wrap which I didn’t love, but again I appreciate their creativity and I appear to be an outlier in this regard. They have several sauces available so be sure to customize. The chicken tenders and fries are good too! I had an absolutely delicious home made Lebanese almond cookie and that was my favourite! I will go back sometime to try some of their plates/falafel and am eager to try their home made baba ganoush! I feel their donairs are unique and diff than other places.
