Capital Suites - Iqaluit

Staying for a few hours at the hotel now, the hall way and lobby is filled with strong scent which is making both me and my child sick! Please don't book at the hotel if you have strong sense of smell not recommended!!!

I've stayed at Capital Suites several times over the last couple of years and it is always a pleasure. Great staff and service, with large, well appointed rooms. The location is great as well, especially if you're doing more walking to get around.

Pros:n-Good central locationn-Friendly staffn-Room type three bedroom suite suited our group size of five adults and was fairly reasonably pricedn-The suite had decent kitchen with plenty of counter/cupboard space and a full sized fridge/freezernnCons:n-When walking into the unit for the first time it was boiling hot, thermostat said 32 degrees Celsius but it was likely warmer than that. We could not lower the temperature and informed the staff member at the front desk who called maintenance, who supposedly addressed the problem a couple hours later while we were out but we were still unable to control the thermostat and had to regulate the temperature by opening/closing windowsn-One of the bathrooms appeared to have mould growing on the ceiling as seen in one of the pictures posted along with this reviewn-The wifi was very slow despite us supposedly having been upgraded to the faster internet for free as a result of only two channels being available on the televisionn-Does not have blackout blinds, which was annoying when the sunrise happens at 3:30am in mid-Mayn-The fire alarm went off around 5:30am on Sunday morning see picture of fire truck in front of hotel. It seemed to be a false alarm but we all had to evacuate the building in -10 weather.

It's an exceptional hotel! Immaculately clean, with welcoming and courteous staff, and a peaceful ambiance. The front desk personnel were outstanding, going above and beyond to accommodate guests. Without a doubt, this will be my top choice for future stays. Conveniently located within walking distance of the Northern Store and several restaurants and cafés. The room is spacious, and the bed provided a comfortable night's sleep.

A good option in Iqaluit. The rooms are pretty basic, but very clean. The hotel is in well-located, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The morning receptionist—Ella, if I remember correctly—was especially outstanding.
